<p>Key Areas of Responsibility</p> <p>These duties must be carried out in a manner that is God honouring and consistent with the school’s vision to provide a Christ-centred education in a learning community of Love, Nurture and Service.</p> <p>Learning and Teaching</p> <ul> <li>Teach from a biblically based Christian worldview.</li> <li>Create and develop a learning environment that is exciting, engaging and flexible.</li> <li>Empower learners to communicate, create and innovate in a globally connected world.</li> <li>Equip your students to navigate, use and analyse technology and content from a Christian perspective.</li> <li>Support and equip your students to set, monitor and achieve their personal goals as learners.</li> <li>Demonstrate an understanding of how students learn and implement effective classroom teaching strategies to develop and build powerful learners.</li> <li>Engage with and maintain administrative records for school based and external requirements.</li> <li>Operate as part of a team with colleagues and school leadership to continually improve learning, teaching and student outcomes.</li> </ul> <p>Student Wellbeing</p> <ul> <li>Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of students within a Biblical framework.</li> <li>As a class/pastoral care group teacher, lead the promotion and development of wellbeing within your class and provide support and leadership of the general progress of your students.</li> <li>Build rapport with individual students and their families and encourage the holistic growth of each student.</li> <li>Employ effective strategies for managing student expectations and wellbeing as well as developing positive partnerships with School families.</li> </ul> <p>Professional</p> <ul> <li>Have an up-to-date knowledge of teachers' professional duties, standards and duty of care in a Christian school.</li> <li>Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, critical analysis and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Contribute to the corporate life of the School through effective participation in meetings and working groups.</li> <li>Take responsibility for your own professional development and growth in relation to the School’s strategic priorities, policies and practices.</li> <li>Operate at all times within the stated policies and practices of the School.</li> </ul> <p>Contribute to a safe and healthy workplace by</p> <ul> <li>Following Work Health and Safety instructions and policies.&nbsp;</li> <li>Reporting accidents and hazards.&nbsp;</li> <li>Generally caring for own safety and that of others, including visitors, students, parents and volunteers that may possibly be affected by actions or inaction.</li> </ul> <p>Other duties</p> <ul> <li>Participate in and support the faith community of the School through prayer and communal worship activities.</li> <li>Model the faith and values of the School in interactions with colleagues, students, parents and the wider community.</li> <li>Attend staff meetings on days when rostered to attend for work.</li> <li>Attend the annual whole staff retreat.</li> <li>Attend devotions on days and times when at work. All staff are welcome to voluntarily attend staff devotions outside of their allocated work times.&nbsp;</li> <li>Participate in school activities requiring staff participation.</li> <li>Other duties as required.</li> </ul> <p>Experience, Knowledge and Attributes</p> <ul> <li>A personal acceptance of the Lordship of Christ and regular attendance at a Christian church (a church holding a doctrinal position compatible with the Doctrinal Basis of the School).</li> <li>A sharp, research-informed progressive vision of learning and teaching and the capacity to create a rich and invigorating learning environment in a Christian learning community of excellence.</li> <li>A gifted, dynamic teacher with an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the development and educational needs of students and a passion for encouraging them in faith in Jesus Christ.</li> <li>Excellent academic qualifications and subject knowledge.&nbsp;</li> <li>Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to relate with compassion, humility, grace, strength and integrity to students, families and staff.</li> </ul>
