<p><strong>Your New Role</strong></p>
<p>A CEDWW Education Officer:</p>
<ul>
<li>Works collaboratively with their designated Education Services Team/s to support the ongoing provision of a high quality Catholic Education for all students across the Diocese with a focus on Inclusive and Diverse Learning.</li>
<li>Contributes to the development and implementation of an innovative school and System improvement agenda focussed on improving practice in order to improve outcomes for students.</li>
<li>Commits to team building and loyalty to the CEDWW Central Office Leadership Team. </li>
</ul>
<p>The work plan of the Education Officer is informed by both System and School Strategic and Annual Plans, in negotiation with their Team Leader. Whilst each Education Officer will support schools through dedicated fields of service, their work will not necessarily be restricted to these areas but also responsive to presenting needs.</p>

<p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Postgraduate academic qualifications additional to initial teacher training and evidence of personal responsibility for ongoing relevant professional learning.</li>
<li>Qualifications and/or significant professional experience in Special Education or Inclusive Education </li>
<li>Accreditation to Lead in a Catholic School <a href="https://cedww.app.lumapps.com/intranet/evangelisation-religious-education/work-teach-lead" rel="nofollow">(Category C, Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools, Catholic Education Diocese of Wagga Wagga</a>) or working towards Accreditation </li>
<li>NESA Accreditation at Proficient Status or beyond </li>
<li>Current Drivers Licence</li>
<li>Current NSW <a href="https://www.service.nsw.gov.au/transaction/apply-for-a-working-with-children-check" rel="nofollow">Working With Children Check</a></li>
<li>Successful candidate to undergo a National Criminal History Check</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Skills and Experience </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Ability to source and provide information to relevant personnel within the school community on the educational, legal, and social issues which impact on the learning of students with diverse needs-including:
<ul>
<li>Children and Young Persons (Care and Protection) Act, 1998</li>
<li>Disability Discrimination Act, 1992 </li>
<li>Disability Standards for Education, 2005 </li>
<li>Privacy Act, 1988</li>
<li>Work Health and Safety Act, 2011</li>
<li>Work Health and Safety Legislation, 2017</li>
<li>Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD)</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Experience as an Inclusion or Special Learning needs teacher and/or school leader in the K-12 education sector</li>
<li>Awareness of effective learning principles in the professional development of teachers</li>
<li>Capacity to work collaboratively with other professionals in non-school based positions and school communities</li>
<li>Effective communication, interpersonal, leadership and organisational skills</li>
<li>Understanding of the use of data to inform teacher practice and student learning improvement</li>
