Cathedral College Wangaratta welcomes applications from enthusiastic and qualified candidates for the full-time position of a Middle School Learning Enhancement Teacher. The successful candidate will join a dedicated and committed team of staff who play a significant role in planning, delivering and reflecting on the learning experiences in the Middle School.

<p><strong>Commencement date: </strong>July 20, 2026</p> <p>0.6 - Learning Enhancement / 0.4 - Teaching</p> <p><strong>The purpose of the Cathedral College Learning Enhancement is to:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support and further the College Vision, Values and Statement of Curriculum Values, Beliefs and Practices.</li> <li>Reflect on the responsibilities and obligations of the College with regard to the provision of educational opportunities for all students.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Implementing and leading policies that promote inclusive education.</li> <li>Leading and coordinating the school’s approach to learning diversity, differentiation, and intervention.</li> <li>Collaborating with the Teaching and Learning Leader—Learning Enhancement, the Head of Middle School, Homeroom teachers, and Teacher Assistants to ensure inclusive practices are embedded across the Middle School.</li> <li>Lead homeroom teachers in developing, implementing, and reviewing Individual Education Plans. This includes forming SMART goals and implementing adjustments to enable students to access learning.</li> <li>Meet with staff and parents, as required, to review learning plans.</li> <li>Liaise with families to discuss results and reports.</li> <li>&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborate with the teaching and learning leader of Learning Enhancement to develop submissions about the National Consistent Collection of Data and report to other regulatory authorities regarding documentation and funding applications.</li> <li>Assist teachers in differentiating modes of learning for all students (how students learn) and levels of ability (what they are learning).</li> <li>Monitor student progress and ensure targeted support is at the point of need.</li> <li>Supporting staff in implementing accommodations for students.</li> <li>Lead and upskill Teacher Assistants to support all students.</li> <li>Liaise with allied health professionals.</li> <li>Maintain student files and liaise with teachers to ensure that support needs are consistently met.</li> <li>Attend whole College staff meetings and other meetings as scheduled.</li> <li> <p>Carry out additional duties as required, including taking replacement classes due to absenteeism.</p> <p><strong>Key Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:</strong></p></li> <li>Communication &amp; Collaboration – Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and external professionals.</li> <li>Differentiation &amp; Adaptability – Modifying learning activities to cater to diverse student needs.</li> <li>Classroom &amp; Behaviour Management – Supporting students in engaging positively with learning.</li> <li>Problem-solving – Identifying and addressing learning challenges with effective strategies.</li> <li>Organisational Skills – Managing student support plans, resources, and interventions.</li> <li>Data Interpretation – Analysing student progress to inform teaching and intervention decisions.</li> <li>Supporting Diverse Learners – working with students of different abilities, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, and students working above the expected level.</li> <li>Building Positive Relationships – Establishing trust and rapport with students to foster a supportive learning environment.</li> <li>Utilising Technology – Integrating technology to enhance learning accessibility.</li> <li>Providing targeted interventions – Implement evidence-based support strategies.</li> <li> <p>Promoting Inclusion – Advocating for equitable learning opportunities for all students.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p></li> <li><strong>Child Safety</strong></li> <li>Provide students with a safe environment.</li> <li>Provide advice and support on child protection issues as required.</li> <li>Be familiar with and comply with the College’s child safe policy, code of conduct, and any other procedures relating to child safety.</li> <li>Proactively monitor and support student wellbeing.</li> <li>Exercise pastoral care in a manner that reflects school values.</li> <li>Implement strategies that promote a healthy learning environment.</li> <li>Demonstrate a duty of care to students in relation to physical and emotional wellbeing.</li> <li> <p>Cathedral College Wangaratta – Position Description</p> <p>Cathedral College Wangaratta maintains a strict zero-tolerance stance on child abuse and is deeply committed to ensuring the safety, wellbeing and protection of all children in its care.</p> <p>Teachers at Cathedral College Wangaratta are dynamic, enthusiastic professionals who are involved in all aspects of College life.
