The Inclusion Officer provides guidance and expertise to schools in the area of Disability, Wellbeing and Inclusive practices. The Inclusion Officer supports through assessing student needs, with particular focus on disability, complex needs and challenging behaviours.

<p>Catholic Archdiocese of Canberra and Goulburn Education Limited (CACGEL) operates in the ACT and NSW, supporting 56 Schools and nine Early Learning Centres (ELCs). </p>
<p>The Archdiocesan Schools Office provides a range of services to the system through four directorates including Faith in Learning, School Operations, Corporate Services and Governance and Strategy.</p>
<p><strong>About the Role </strong> </p>
<p>The Inclusion Officer provides guidance and expertise to schools in the area of Disability, Wellbeing and Inclusive practices. The Inclusion Officer supports through assessing student needs, with particular focus on disability, complex needs and challenging behaviours. They are also responsible for building partnerships with schools and other professionals; and implementing strategies to address the inclusion and wellbeing needs of students.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities of the role include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Providing quality support through targeted intervention and strategy development to schools and staff to support the inclusion and wellbeing needs of students</li>
<li>Assist colleagues with the preparation and delivery of quality professional learning to ensure effectiveness supports for students with disability, and collection of evidence for the Nationally Consistent Collection of Data (NCCD)</li>
<li>Liaise with other service areas, external agencies, and consultants in the implementation of approaches for meeting the complex needs and challenging behaviours of students.</li>

<p><strong>About the Team</strong></p>
<p>The Inclusion Officer sits in the School and Family Services team of the School Operations directorate and supports schools in a variety of ways, including working with clinical experts and curriculum advisers. The School and Family Services team draws on a wealth of knowledge, hands on experience and personal connections with communities to bring welcome and positive change, with students and families at the heart of everything.<br>

<p><strong>Qualifications and Eligibility </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Postgraduate qualifications in Disability Education or Inclusive practices and teaching experience in supporting students with diverse needs</li>
<li>Ability to obtain and maintain Accreditation in accordance with Work Teach and Lead in Catholic Education Canberra and Goulburn policy</li>
<li>Working with Vulnerable People (WWVP) registration and Working With Children Check (WWCC) <br>
(<i>Please note these clearances are not required at point of application however are required prior to commencement</i>)</li>
<li>Current Drivers Licence.</li>
