<p><strong>About the Role </strong><br><br>
St Peters Lutheran College is seeking a<strong> </strong>proactive Health and Safety Adviser to lead and elevate safety across our campuses.<br><br>
As the College’s WHS specialist, you will drive the continuous improvement of our safety systems while partnering with leaders and staff to embed practical, risk-based safety practices. Working across Indooroopilly, Springfield and Ironbark, you will strengthen capability, influence culture, and ensure risks are effectively managed.<br><br>
Reporting to the Director of Risk, Compliance and Assurance, this role blends strategic leadership with hands-on delivery, offering the opportunity to make a visible impact on the safety and wellbeing of our College community.<br><br><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead and continuously improve the College’s WHS Management System across all sites.</li>
<li>Partner with leaders to provide practical, risk-based WHS advice and strengthen safety culture.</li>
<li>Identify, assess, and manage WHS risks, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.</li>
<li>Oversee incident reporting, investigations, and timely corrective actions.</li>
<li>Deliver audits, inspections, and improvement initiatives to enhance safety performance.</li>
<li>Build capability through training, coaching, and safety awareness programs.</li>
<li>Monitor performance and provide clear insights to drive informed decision-making. <br>

<p><strong>What you bring</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience in a Work Health and Safety role, supporting the implementation and improvement of WHS systems and practices.</li>
<li>Sound knowledge of WHS legislation and the ability to apply it in a practical, risk-based way.</li>
<li>Ability to build effective working relationships and provide clear, practical safety advice.</li>
<li>Experience supporting incident investigations, risk management, and corrective actions.</li>
<li>Demonstrated involvement in audits, inspections, and continuous improvement activities.</li>
<li>Confident delivering training and supporting others to build safety capability.</li>
<li>Relevant WHS qualification (or working towards) with strong organisational and communication skills.</li>
<li>A team-focused, professional approach with respect for the College’s values and Christian ethos</li>
