Damascus College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate First Aid Officer/Administration Support to join our Administration team. This is a great opportunity for a qualified first aid professional who enjoys working in a school environment and is passionate about supporting young people.

<p><strong>First Aid Officer/Administration Support</strong><br><strong>Full Time</strong></p> <p>Damascus College is seeking a dedicated and compassionate First Aid Officer/Administration Support to join our Administration team. This is a great opportunity for a qualified first aid professional who enjoys working in a school environment and is passionate about supporting young people.</p> <p>This important role is responsible for providing first aid care to students, staff and visitors, managing student health information and first aid resources and providing administrative support to Parent and Student Reception.</p> <p>As a key member of our team, you will be the first point of contact for students requiring medical assistance and will play an important role in supporting the health and wellbeing of our College community.</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide first aid to sick or injured students, staff and visitors and oversee the day to day operation of the sick bay</li> <li>Liaise with parents/carers and emergency contacts regarding student illness or injury</li> <li>Administer and accurately record student medication in accordance with approved medical plans and instructions</li> <li>Assist with emergency response situations and communicate effectively with emergency services and key College personnel</li> <li>Maintain first aid kits, medical supplies and equipment across the College</li> <li>Provide administrative support including assisting with incoming telephone calls and visitor enquiries during busy periods</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications, Skills and Experience</strong></p> <p>The successful candidate will have:</p> <ul> <li>Relevant qualifications and experience in first aid, healthcare, nursing or a related field</li> <li>Previous administration experience, preferably within an education or healthcare setting</li> <li>Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations</li> <li>Strong organisational, administrative and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines</li> <li>The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team environment</li> <li>Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and other digital systems; experience with SIMON or similar student management systems is desirable</li> <li>An understanding of child safety, mandatory reporting requirements and confidentiality obligations</li> <li>A commitment to supporting the values and ethos of a Catholic school in the Alignment with the values of a Catholic school in the Mercy tradition</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>Why Join Damascus College</strong></p> <p>Damascus College is a vibrant and inclusive learning community committed to nurturing the growth and wellbeing of every student.
