The successful candidates will design and deliver high-quality English and Humanities lessons that inspire critical thinking and a passion for learning. &nbsp;</p> <p>  We have two full-time contracts available</p> <ol> <li>Full-time position commencing 13th July 2026 and concluding on 25th March 2027.</li> <li>Full-time position commencing 13th July 2026 and concluding on 18th September 2026.</li> </ol> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>Apply professional knowledge by understanding how students learn and tailoring your teaching to meet diverse learning needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrate strong content knowledge and use effective, evidence-based strategies to teach English and Humanities in engaging and accessible ways.&nbsp;</li> <li>Plan and implement effective teaching and learning programs that align with curriculum standards and foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>Create and maintain supportive and safe learning environments where all students feel valued, respected, and motivated to succeed.&nbsp;</li> <li>Assess, provide feedback, and report on student learning to guide progress and support individual growth.&nbsp;</li> <li>Engage in ongoing professional learning to enhance your practice and stay current with educational developments.&nbsp;</li> <li>Collaborate professionally with colleagues, parents/carers, and the wider school community to support student achievement and wellbeing.&nbsp;</li> <li>Actively participate in professional and community networks and forums to broaden your knowledge and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For</strong>&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Education or relevant discipline (English/Humanities).&nbsp;</li> <li>Current teaching registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.&nbsp;</li> <li>Strong classroom management and excellent communication skills.&nbsp;</li> <li>A commitment to continuous improvement and student success.&nbsp;</li> <li>Current First Aid and CPR certificate.&nbsp;</li> <li>Relevant expertise in teaching Years 7-12 English and Humanities subjects.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>What We Offer&nbsp;</strong></p> <ul> <li>A supportive and collaborative school community.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ongoing professional development opportunities.&nbsp;</li> <li>Modern facilities and access to teaching resources.&nbsp;</li> <li>Salary of $92,293 for a 1st year teacher and $130,996 for a teacher with 8+ years teaching experience.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About the school</strong>&nbsp;</p> <p>The Cathedral School of St Anne &amp; St James located in Mundingburra is Townsville's only Independent Anglican School for boys and girls from Early Childhood to Year 12 and boarding students from Year 7 to 12.
