Mary Glowrey Catholic Primary School is preparing to open its doors in 2027, and we are seeking an exceptional Catholic educational leader to join us as our Foundation Deputy Principal. <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>Reporting to the Foundation Principal, the Deputy Principal will play a pivotal role in establishing the culture, routines, and operational excellence of our new school. This role includes:</p>
<ul>
<li>Leadership & School Operations</li>
<li>Supporting compliance with MACS, VRQA and legislative requirements</li>
<li>Overseeing daily organisation, staffing, supervision, and timetabling</li>
<li>Coordinating replacement staffing and supervision rosters</li>
<li>Leading and supporting Professional Learning Teams (PLTs)</li>
<li>Managing agendas and minutes for Leadership Meetings</li>
<li>Assisting with policy development, school events, excursions, and emergency procedures</li>
<li>Assuming the role of Principal when required</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Student Wellbeing & Behaviour</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Leading the implementation of our SEL curriculum</li>
<li>Supporting staff with behaviour management, restorative practices, and incident recording</li>
<li>Working with families around wellbeing concerns</li>
<li>Supporting NCCD processes and student needs</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Community & Pastoral Care</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Promoting positive, respectful relationships across the school</li>
<li>Supporting families in times of grief, challenge, and celebration</li>
<li>Attending assemblies, liturgical celebrations, and community events</li>
<li>Establishing a Student Representative Council</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Teaching & Learning</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrating strong curriculum knowledge and effective pedagogical practice</li>
<li>Supporting explicit instruction, daily review, feedback cycles and high expectations</li>
<li>Observing teaching practice and engaging in reciprocal peer review</li>
<li>Reviewing academic reports and supporting data-informed improvement</li>
</ul>

<p><u>Essential Qualifications</u></p>
<ul>
<li>A Master’s degree in a relevant field</li>
<li>Current VIT registration</li>
<li>Teaching qualifications</li>
<li>Religious Education Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school</li>
</ul>
<p><u>Knowledge & Skills</u></p>
<ul>
<li>Deep understanding of Catholic education and the mission of the Church</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of the Victorian Curriculum</li>
<li>Understanding of the science of learning and explicit instruction</li>
<li>Familiarity with NCCD processes</li>
<li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills</li>
</ul>
