<p><strong>The position:</strong></p> <p>The Senior Finance Officer supports the financial operations of the Catholic Education Office including financial reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, audit preparation compliance reporting and day-to-day finance activities across multiple entities.</p> <p>Reporting to the Group Finance Manager the role works closely with school finance staff and internal stakeholders to support strong financial governance, accurate reporting, continuous improvement and strategic financial decision-making across Catholic Education NT.</p> <p>This is a full-time permanent position with commencement negotiable.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities:&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>As Senior Finance Officer, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Complete month-end and year-end finance activities including reconciliations journals, fixed asset registers and lease registers.</li> <li>Prepare monthly and annual financial reports variance analysis and supporting documentation within required deadlines.</li> <li>Assist with the preparation of annual financial statements, consolidated reports and external audit documentation.</li> <li>Support the annual budgeting process in collaboration with cost centre managers and senior leadership.</li> <li>Analyse financial performance trends variances and areas of concern and provide recommendations to the Group Finance Manager.</li> <li>Manage inter-entity balances and resolve discrepancies with school finance staff and internal stakeholders.</li> <li>Prepare and submit tax and regulatory reporting requirements including GST FBT ABS and ACNC reporting.</li> <li>Support continuous improvement initiatives including financial policies procedures and TechnologyOne system development.</li> <li>Provide financial support advice and training to cost centre managers and junior finance staff.</li> <li>Act as back-up for key finance functions including accounts payable accounts receivable bank reconciliations corporate credit cards and grant accounting.</li> <li>Maintain effective relationships with school staff suppliers auditors and Catholic Education Office employees.</li> </ul> who:</p> <ul> <li>Holds tertiary qualifications in accounting.</li> <li>Is working towards membership of a professional accounting body (CA or CPA).</li> <li>Demonstrates experience in financial and accounting operations.</li> <li>Has experience in budgeting financial reporting reconciliations and compliance reporting.</li> <li>Has strong analytical organisational and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Communicates effectively and builds positive working relationships with stakeholders.</li> <li>Can manage confidential and sensitive information professionally.</li> <li>Has strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.</li> <li>Understands and supports the ethos of Catholic education.</li> <li>Holds a current NT Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card) or ability to
