The Skilled Labourer will join our busy Facilities team providing practical and varied general maintenance, site upkeep and operational support.
<p>Wenona is seeking a proactive and dedicated <strong>Skilled Labourer/Facilities Assistant</strong> to join our Property & Facilities team to provide practical and varied general maintenance, site upkeep and operational support rather than specialist trade work. You will deliver high quality, effective and safe outcomes across the site and support day-to-day campus operations.</p>

<p><strong>The Position</strong></p>
<p>The <strong>Skilled Labourer/Facilities Assistant</strong> plays an important role in providing practical assistance and operational and logistical support, ensuring the School is a consistently safe environment.</p>
<p>Key responsibilities include:<br><br><strong>General maintenance and repairs - </strong>Perform painting touch ups, basic joinery, lock and hardware adjustments, light fixture replacement and minor plumbing or electrical tasks within scope</p>
<p><strong>Site upkeep - </strong>Maintain grounds, hardstands and building exteriors, complete minor concreting and paving repairs, and manage waste and recycling tasks.<br><br><strong>Equipment care - </strong>Clean and perform basic servicing of small plant and tools.<br><br><strong>Event and logistics support - </strong>Assist with deliveries, relocations, setting up and packing down for events and classroom moves.<br><br><strong>Safety checks and compliance - </strong>Carry out Test and Tag where trained, complete routine safety inspections and report hazards.<br><br><strong>Contractor support</strong> - Prepare work areas, provide access and liaise with external contractors to ensure safe, efficient delivery.<br><br><strong>Record keeping</strong> - Complete job requests, maintenance logs and incident reports promptly and accurately.<br><br>
This is a permanent full-time position. This role will operate on a rotating roster, hours varying between 7am - 6pm. Our School is located footsteps from the Metro Station in North Sydney. </p>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>To be successful in this role, you will have experience in maintenance, facilities or general labour roles (trade qualifications are an advantage but not essential). Practical skills with hand and power tools will be valued along with being physically fit and able to perform manual handling tasks. This role requires a strong commitment to work health and safety as well as effective communication and teamwork skills. You will have strong interpersonal skills and eagerness to deliver excellent service to all stakeholders, whilst supporting the values of Wenona.</p>
