Seaview Christian College Educators are employed under the terms and conditions specified in the Christian Community Ministries Enterprise Agreement 2024. Educators will demonstrate a willingness to actively support the Christian aims of the College, demonstrate a strong commitment to the ethos of Christian education and be familiar with college policy, rules and expectations.

<p>Early Childhood Teachers contribute to creating a community where children are nurtured in an authentic Christian environment. The Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) Service) focuses on providing enriched opportunities for learning and development in language, communication, and social relationships, supporting children to develop creativity, confidence, curiosity, and care as they explore God’s world. In this role, you are responsible for delivering high-quality, Christ-centred early childhood education that supports the holistic development of each child. Your practice reflects a deep respect for the inherent worth, dignity, and God-given potential of every child, while modelling Christian faith and fostering a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Teaching and learning are guided by the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the expectations of the National Quality Standard (NQS) for ECEC services, ensuring play-based, intentional programs that support children’s wellbeing, identity, communication, and active engagement in learning.</p> <p><br><strong>Duties &amp; Responsibility</strong><br><strong>1 Teaching and Learning</strong></p> <p>1.1 Plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality early childhood learning programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and the Christian philosophy of the ECEC Service and College.<br> 1.2 Use intentional, play-based teaching strategies that support children’s language, communication, social development, and early learning.<br> 1.3 Differentiate learning experiences to meet the developmental needs, interests, and abilities of individual children.<br> 1.4 Create engaging learning environments that encourage curiosity, exploration, creativity, and confidence.<br> 1.5 Observe, document, and reflect on children’s learning to inform planning and support continuous improvement in teaching practice.</p> <p><strong>2 Christian Mission, Ministry, and Pastoral Care</strong></p> <p>2.1 Model a Christ-centred life in conduct, relationships, and professional practice, consistent with the ethos of the College.<br> 2.2 Integrate Biblical principles, Christian worldview, and spiritual formation opportunities into teaching programs where appropriate.<br> 2.3 Actively support the faith life of the school by participating in devotions, prayer, worship services, and pastoral programs.<br> 2.4 Provide pastoral care that reflects the character of Christ by offering compassion, support, and encouragement to students and families.</p> <p><strong>3 Learning Environment and Student Wellbeing</strong></p> <p>3.1 Establish and maintain safe, orderly, and inclusive learning environments that promote student wellbeing and respectful behaviour.<br> 3.2 Implement positive guidance and behaviour support strategies consistent with ECEC service policies and procedures as well as College policies and Christian values.<br> 3.3 Support children’s social and emotional development and respond appropriately to individual wellbeing needs.<br> 3.4 Maintain learning environments and practices that meet the requirements of the National Quality Standard (NQS).</p> <p><strong>4 Assessment, Feedback, and Reporting</strong></p> <p>4.1 Use a range of developmentally appropriate assessment and observation methods to monitor and document children’s learning and progress.<br> 4.2 Maintain accurate and confidential learning records and documentation in accordance with ECEC Service, College and regulatory requirements.<br> 4.3 Communicate children’s learning and development with families through reports, conversations, and learning documentation.<br> 4.4 Reflect on assessment information to inform planning and improve learning outcomes.</p> <p><strong>5 Professional Practice and Development</strong></p> <p>5.1 Participate in professional learning, reflective practice, and performance appraisal processes to strengthen teaching effectiveness.<br> 5.2 Engage in ongoing professional development aligned with the relevant professional standards for teachers and the strategic direction of the ECEC Service and the College.<br> 5.3 Maintain professional knowledge of contemporary early childhood education practices and regulatory requirements.</p> <p><strong>6 Communication and Partnerships</strong></p> <p>6.1 Foster respectful, collaborative relationships with children, families, colleagues, and the wider College community.<br> 6.2 Communicate openly and professionally with families regarding children’s learning, wellbeing, and development.<br> 6.3 Support a strong partnership between the ECEC Service and families to enhance children’s learning and wellbeing.</p> <p><strong>7 Compliance, Duty of Care, and Operational Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>7.1 Uphold all legal responsibilities, regulatory requirements, ECEC service policies, and child-safe standards, including mandatory reporting and WHS obligations.<br> 7.2 Maintain high standards of professionalism, confidentiality, ethical conduct, and digital citizenship.<br> 7.3 Attend staff meetings, professional learning sessions, ECEC service planning meetings, and Service or College events as required.<br> 7.4 Supervise children at all times, including during indoor and outdoor play, rest periods, meals, excursions, and transitions, ensuring duty-of-care obligations are met.<br> 7.5 Support the effective daily operation of the ECEC Service, including maintaining safe and well-prepared learning environments, resources, and documentation in accordance with regulatory requirements.</p> <p><strong>8 Workplace Health &amp;
