Seaview Christian College is looking for a suitable Primary Teacher of Christian faith commencing in Semester Two 2026. It is a full-time position, however, part-time opportunities available. Seaview Christian College is an independent, non-denominational Christian College located in the city of Port Augusta, 322 kilometres north of Adelaide at the foot of the Flinders Ranges.

<p>Established in 2016, the College is one of 15 schools operated by Christian Community Ministries Ltd. The mission of Seaview Christian College is to provide Christ-centred schooling in an atmosphere of love, respect, peace and discipline which will encourage students to achieve their full potential for God.</p> <p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p>Teachers are appointed by the College Principal in consultation with the College leadership team. Each appointee is responsible to the Principal.&nbsp;</p> <p>Suitable applicants must be a person of Christian faith and integrity and align with the college faith, values and ethos. Teaching is undertaken from a Christian Worldview across a range of subjects as per the prescribed primary school curriculum. As a teacher, you will promote the social, emotional, intellectual and physical development of students whilst also supporting them to meet defined educational goals.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Specific responsibilities include</strong></p> <p>Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality, Christ-centred education that supports the intellectual, spiritual, social, and emotional development of students. As each child is precious, unique, and individually created by God, your practice must reflect a deep respect for the inherent worth, dignity, and God-given potential of every student. You are required to model a vibrant Christian faith, integrate a Biblical worldview into learning experiences, and contribute to a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment where students are encouraged to grow in character, faith, and academic achievement. The role exists to provide engaging and effective instruction that is aligned with the college curriculum, the AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers, and the College's mission and values.&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key responsibilities &amp; duties</strong></p> <p>1. Teaching&nbsp;and&nbsp;Learning</p> <ul> <li>Plan,&nbsp;deliver,&nbsp;and&nbsp;evaluate&nbsp;high-quality,&nbsp;age-appropriate&nbsp;learning programs&nbsp;aligned&nbsp;to&nbsp;the college curriculum and the school’s Christian philosophy.</li> <li>Use evidence-informed instructional practices, including explicit teaching, modelling, guided practice, and opportunities for independent application.</li> <li>Differentiate teaching strategies to&nbsp;meet the diverse learning needs, abilities, ages, and backgrounds of&nbsp;students.</li> <li>Establish clear learning intentions, success criteria, and provide timely, constructive feedback to support student growth.</li> <li>Create learning&nbsp;environments that engage and challenge students, fostering curiosity, critical thinking, and personal responsibility.</li> </ul> <p>2. Christian&nbsp;Mission,&nbsp;Ministry,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Pastoral&nbsp;Care</p> <ul> <li>&nbsp;Model a Christ-centred life in conduct, relationships, and professional practice, consistent with the ethos of the College.</li> <li>Integrate Biblical&nbsp;principles, Christian worldview, and spiritual formation opportunities into&nbsp;teaching programs where appropriate.</li> <li>Actively&nbsp;support&nbsp;the&nbsp;faith&nbsp;life&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;school&nbsp;by&nbsp;participating&nbsp;in&nbsp;devotions,&nbsp;prayer,&nbsp;worship&nbsp;services,&nbsp;and pastoral&nbsp;programs.</li> <li>Provide pastoral care that reflects the character of Christ by offering compassion, support, and encouragement to students and families.</li> </ul> <p>3. Classroom&nbsp;Environment&nbsp;and&nbsp;Student&nbsp;Wellbeing</p> <ul> <li>Establish and maintain safe, orderly,&nbsp;and inclusive learning&nbsp;environments&nbsp;that promote student wellbeing and respectful behaviour.</li> <li>Apply effective behaviour management strategies consistent with school policies and Christian values.</li> <li>Identify&nbsp;students&nbsp;at&nbsp;risk of&nbsp;disengagement&nbsp;or&nbsp;wellbeing&nbsp;concerns&nbsp;and implement appropriate&nbsp;support strategies, including referrals</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;4. Assessment,&nbsp;Feedback,&nbsp;and&nbsp;Reporting</p> <ul> <li>Use a range of valid assessment&nbsp;methods to monitor, document, and evaluate student learning and make consistent and comparable judgements in assessment, reporting and feedback.</li> <li>Provide meaningful assessment feedback and write clear, comprehensive semester reports that reflect student progress and achievement.</li> <li>Maintain accurate,&nbsp;timely,&nbsp;and confidential&nbsp;student&nbsp;records&nbsp;in&nbsp;line with&nbsp;school&nbsp;and&nbsp;regulatory requirements.</li> <li>Collaborate with colleagues to design quality assessment tasks, moderate student work, and ensure accurate and consistent judgements.</li> </ul> <p>5. Communication and Partnerships</p> <ul> <li>Foster strong, respectful relationships with students, parents, colleagues, and the wider school community.</li> <li>Promote&nbsp;the&nbsp;mission,&nbsp;vision,&nbsp;and&nbsp;values&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;College&nbsp;in&nbsp;all&nbsp;professional&nbsp;interactions&nbsp;and&nbsp;public communication.</li> <li>Communicate clearly and promptly&nbsp;with parents and caregivers&nbsp;regarding&nbsp;student&nbsp;learning,&nbsp;well-being, and progress, and adhere to school communication policies.</li> </ul> <p>7. Extracurricular Activities</p> <ul> <li>Participate in and support the College’s extracurricular programs, including camps, sporting activities, arts events, musical productions, and co-curricular clubs.</li> <li>Contribute to activities&nbsp;that&nbsp;promote&nbsp;student&nbsp;engagement,&nbsp;teamwork,&nbsp;leadership,&nbsp;and&nbsp;character development.</li> <li>Use&nbsp;personal skills, interests, and gifts to&nbsp;enrich extracurricular offerings and provide meaningful opportunities for students outside the classroom.</li> </ul> <p>8. Where material changes are proposed, these will be addressed through appropriate consultation and, where applicable, formal variation processes.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Skills and Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Degree qualified</li> <li>Possess current registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia, or be eligible for registration</li> <li>Continued commitment to improved practices in line with AITSL Professional Standards for Teachers</li> <li>Current Australian citizenship, or capacity to fulfil Australian visa and entry requirements if a non-citizen residing in Australia or overseas</li> </ul> <p>Conditions of employment for teaching staff are contained in the <i>CCM Schools Enterprise Agreement 2024.</i> Annual remuneration for teachers, subject to employment location and recognised prior teaching experience, is in the range $88,824 to $127,519 (January 2026 rates, full time base rates, inclusive of annual leave loading).</p> <p>Applicants shortlisted for an interview will be contacted via email and telephone.
