<p><strong>Senior Finance Officer</strong></p> <p><strong>Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College – Wattle Grove, NSW</strong></p> <p>Saint Mark’s Coptic Orthodox College is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented <strong>Senior Finance Officer</strong> to join our Operations Team. This is an exciting opportunity for a finance professional who enjoys working in a dynamic school environment and contributing to both financial excellence and operational effectiveness.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The Senior Finance Officer plays a key role in supporting the financial management of the College and its broader operations. Reporting to the Business Manager, this position provides critical oversight across finance processes, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and compliance.</p> <p>A core function of the role is to act as a key reviewer within the Finance Team—ensuring all financial work is thoroughly checked, compliant, and aligned with organisational standards. The role also provides high-level support to the Business Manager and contributes to informed decision-making across the College.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Maintain the General Ledger, including preparation of journals and reconciliation of all balance sheet accounts</li> <li>Perform monthly reconciliations of all financial accounts, ensuring accuracy and timely resolution of discrepancies</li> <li>Manage and maintain the College’s Asset Register</li> <li>Deliver monthly budget analysis and variance reporting in collaboration with relevant staff</li> <li>Prepare monthly financial reports, including insights and forecasting for management</li> <li>Lead month-end and year-end processes, ensuring compliance with statutory accounting standards and coordinating the annual audit</li> <li>Oversee and review end-to-end payroll processing to ensure accuracy and compliance with legislation</li> <li>Analyse payroll reports each cycle and investigate variances</li> <li>Ensure compliance with PAYG, superannuation, payroll tax, and leave entitlements</li> <li>Reconcile payroll-related accounts and maintain payroll data integrity</li> <li>Support the wider Operations Team, including providing coverage during staff leave</li> <li>Respond to finance-related enquiries from staff, parents, and the College community</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>You are a highly organised and detail-focused finance professional with strong analytical skills and a commitment to accuracy.
