<p><strong>Inclusion Support Assistant</strong></p> <p>A unique opportunity to join Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Thamarrurr Catholic College, a vibrant bilingual school in Wadeye, NT, 420km south-west of Darwin on the lands of the Kardu Diminin people.&nbsp;</p> <p>We serve children and families from Early Learning through to Year 12 and are seeking an enthusiastic Inclusion Support Assistant for a full-time, fixed-term contract until January 2027. We also welcome applications from Teaching Assistants and Education Support Officers&nbsp;who have an interest in remote Aboriginal education and a commitment to our Catholic ethos.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Salary $65,253 - $87,007 (dependant on experience)&nbsp; + 12% superannuation</li> <li>Salary sacrificing options</li> <li>Relocation assistance up to $3,000</li> <li>6 weeks of annual leave (pro-rata)</li> <li>Rent-free, fully furnished accommodation with subsidised power and water</li> <li>Grocery courier costs covered</li> <li>4 flights out of isolated location (FOIL) per year, including family members</li> <li>Funded professional development and study leave incentives</li> <li>Generous leave entitlements including additional personal leave and leave loading</li> <li>Employee rewards program with retail discounts</li> <li>No school fees for children attending our Catholic college</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide in-class support to individual students and small groups to facilitate engagement in learning</li> <li>Actively engage with the Wadeye community, working alongside local staff to support students' essential skills and learning</li> <li>Assist in implementing and monitoring Educational Adjustment Plans (EAPs)</li> <li>Support students to regulate emotions and behaviour, including facilitating breaks when required</li> <li>Adapt tasks and provide scaffolding to support access to the curriculum</li> <li>Promote student independence, confidence, and social skills</li> <li>Work collaboratively with teachers, Inclusion staff, and allied health professionals</li> <li>Assist with supervision during non-classroom times (e.g. transitions, breaks)</li> <li>Support the creation of a safe and inclusive learning environment</li> <li>Complete daily support notes with adjustments being made in the classroom</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications &amp; Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Certificate III or IV in Education Support (or equivalent desirable)</li> <li>Valid Working with Children Clearance (Ochre Card)</li> <li>Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)</li> </ul> <p><strong>About you:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience working with children or young people, particularly those with diverse learning, behavioural, or emotional needs</li> <li>Understanding of inclusive education practices and differentiated support strategies</li> <li>Ability to follow and implement individual learning plans (such as EAPs)</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team</li> <li>Good organisational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and support notes</li> <li>Experience as a Teaching Assistant, Teacher's Aide, or in a similar classroom support role.&nbsp;</li> <li>A respect for and willingness to support the Catholic ethos of the school; applicants of all faiths and backgrounds are encouraged to apply&nbsp;</li> <li>Have a genuine interest in working within a remote Aboriginal community, with a willingness to build respectful relationships with local staff, families, and the broader Wadeye community&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>How to Apply</strong></p> <p>Please submit your resume and a cover letter addressing your suitability for the role to the Principal via the "Apply for Job" button.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Applications close: Friday 29 May 2026</strong></p> <p><i>The Catholic Education Office reserves the right to close this advertisement early or extend it beyond the closing date.
