<p><strong>School Finance Specialist</strong> <br><strong>1.0 FTE Limited Tenure</strong><br><strong>Commencing asap – 31 December 2026</strong></p>
<p>Catholic Education Tasmania is seeking a highly skilled and motivated School Finance Specialist to join our School Finance Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting financial compliance and enhancing financial systems across our shared funded schools.</p>
<p>Reporting to the Finance Manager: School Operations, the School Finance Specialist is responsible for delivering high-quality financial and systems support to schools across Tasmania.</p>
<p>You will provide expert guidance to school finance staff and leadership teams, ensuring effective financial practices, system compliance, and continuous improvement of financial systems. The role also plays a key part in supporting and enhancing Financial Management Systems (TechnologyOne and Compass), including user support, training, and system development initiatives.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Provide day-to-day (BAU) support for school finance systems, including helpdesk management and query resolution</li>
<li>Support financial compliance processes including billing, debt management, and end-of-month/year reporting</li>
<li>Deliver training and coaching to school staff in TechnologyOne and Compass</li>
<li>Contribute to the development, testing, and rollout of new system modules and improvements</li>
<li>Develop user guides, training resources, and support materials</li>
<li>Conduct school visits to provide financial advice and support</li>
<li>Identify and implement process improvements across financial operations</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>You are a proactive and confident professional who can work both autonomously and collaboratively in a complex environment. You bring:</p>
<ul>
<li>Strong financial management systems experience</li>
<li>Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills</li>
<li>The ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders across diverse settings</li>
<li>Sound judgement, discretion, and a high level of integrity</li>
<li>A commitment to continuous improvement and innovation</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Bachelor qualification in Business, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent experience)</li>
<li>Demonstrated experience in financial management systems and school financial processes</li>
<li>Current Working with Vulnerable People registration (Employment)</li>
<li>National Police Check</li>
<li>Accreditation to work in a Catholic school (or willingness to obtain)</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with TechnologyOne and Compass</li>
<li>Knowledge of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks</li>
</ul>
<p>Additional Information</p>
<p>This role involves periodic intrastate travel, with occasional stays of 3–5 days to support school sites across Tasmania.</p>
