Mercy Catholic College Chatswood seeks to appoint an energetic and highly skilled Diverse Learning Teacher with experience supporting Year 7 – 12 Student. <p><strong>About the School</strong> </p>
<p>Mercy Catholic College, Chatswood is a systemic girls secondary school on the Lower North Shore of Sydney. The school was established in 1890 by the Sisters of Mercy. The first lay Principal was appointed in 1989. The enrolment of the college is 730 students. </p>
<p>The college aims to educate students to be strong Catholic women, ready and able to take an active role in society. It values the role of the individual (students, staff, parents) within the community and attempts to encourage the understanding that rights must be balanced by responsibilities. It strives to meet the sentiments of the prophet Micah to 'act justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with your God'. </p>
<p><strong>Specific Criteria</strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Supportive of the Catholic Ethos of the Diocese of Broken Bay and strategic priorities of the College </li>
<li>A deep commitment to safeguarding as everyone's responsibility and prioritising child safety</li>
<li>Be a highly effective skilled classroom practitioner with demonstrated experience and capacity as a Diverse Learning teacher (Year 7 – Year 12) </li>
<li>Experience in English and Literacy support advantageous </li>
<li>Embed innovative pedagogical practices including digital technology </li>
<li>Possess strong working knowledge of current Nationally Consistent Collection of Data on School Students with Disability (NCCD) legislation and requirements </li>
<li>Proven ability in the collection, maintenance and documentation of student adjustments in line with NCCD requirements </li>
<li>Demonstrated capacity to support teachers in adjusting and differentiating the curriculum to cater to a wider range of learning needs </li>
<li>Experience collaborating with students, parents and carers in the formulation of individual learning plans and subsequent on-going case management </li>
<li>Effectively manage and facilitate safe and supportive learning environments with an understanding of positive welfare practices </li>
<li>Be able to work collaboratively as part of a dynamic professional learning community </li>
<li>Have highly developed interpersonal, presentation and communication skills and the ability to develop positive relationships with staff, students, parents and carers across the College community, operating with empathy and confidentiality </li>
<li>Align professional learning to the needs of students </li>
<li>Be willing to contribute to the broader extracurricular endeavours of school life as an active member of the College community </li>
