<p>About the Role: </p>
<p>We are seeking a dynamic and highly capable Assistant Business Manager to join our team and play a key role in in supporting the operational and strategic functions of the College. </p>
<p>This position will work closely with the Business Manager to oversee the day-to-day business operations of the College, support financial and administrative processes, and help ensure the organisation runs efficiently and effectively. You will contribute to compliance, resource management, operational planning, and staff support, while also assisting with projects and initiatives that strengthen the overall functioning and future growth of the College. </p>
<p>Responsibilities will include, but not limited to: </p>
<ul>
<li>Support the Business Manager in the day-to-day financial, operational, and administrative functions of the College.</li>
<li> Monitor payroll reporting and analyse pay cycle variations. </li>
<li>Support procurement processes, tender preparation, and contract management. </li>
<li>Supervise, mentor, and support Finance and Administrative teams to ensure efficient and effective operations. </li>
<li>Oversee contractor onboarding, inductions, and compliance requirements across the College.</li>
<li>Assist in the preparation for annual audits and ensure compliance with statutory accounting requirements. </li>
<li>Contribute to strategic planning, continuous improvement initiatives, and operational projects. </li>
<li>Assist with preparation of monthly financial reports, budget analysis, forecasting, and variance reporting. </li>
<li>Support the coordination of college refurbishment and building projects as required. </li>
<li>Participate in Work Health & Safety processes, compliance reviews, and risk management initiatives. </li>
<li>Manage insurance renewals and support the handling of insurance claims. </li>
<li>Maintain the General Ledger, asset register, and support month-end and year-end financial processes. </li>
<li>Prepare reports, presentations, and business documentation for college leadership.</li>
</ul>
<p>You will bring: </p>
<ul>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualifications and/or demonstrated experience in business, finance, or administration. </li>
<li>Experience in a similar leadership, business, or operational support role </li>
<li>Strong financial literacy and the ability to interpret and present financial information clearly. </li>
<li>Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines. </li>
<li>Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and supporting teams. </li>
<li>Strong written and verbal communication skills with a high attention to detail </li>
<li>Experience using complex finance, payroll, or school management systems. </li>
<li>An initiative-taking, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work independently and collaboratively. </li>
<li>Sound understanding of compliance, risk management, and Work Health & Safety practices. </li>
<li>A commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education </li>
<li>A current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain</li>
