<p>St Josephine Bakhita is a growing Catholic primary school in the Five Farms estate in Clyde North and is situated 46 kilometres southeast of Melbourne’s Central Business District on the lands of the Bunurong People. The school, as part of St Thomas the Apostle Catholic Parish, provides access to Catholic education for families situated in the eastern area of the Parish and boasts vibrant, modern classrooms that are well appointed and resourced.</p>

The school opened in January 2025 with an initial enrolment of 120 students. With a current enrolment of 215 students across 9 classes, the school will continue to grow in 2027 with the addition of four Foundation classes. The long-term enrolment projection for St Josephine Bakhita is 700 students (100 new students each year until capacity is reached). To support increasing enrolment numbers, new buildings will open for use in August 2026. Further stages of construction are planned to commence mid year.</p>

The school is named after St Josephine Bakhita, the first contemporary female African Saint. St Josephine Bakhita is the patron saint of victims of modern slavery and human trafficking and serves as a beacon for sustainability by striving to set an example of responsible sourcing practices.</p>

St Josephine Bakhita Catholic Primary School, Clyde North is seeking a dynamic and innovative leader to work in partnership with our staff, student and parent community. The role of the primary deputy principal is to support the principal and leadership team in managing the planning, delivery, evaluation and improvement of the education of all students at St Josephine Bakhita Catholic Primary School. It will involve working closely with the principal in enacting the strategic directions of DOSCEL and the strategic deployment of resources, which reflect the following key priorities:</p>

<li>Enlivening faith education and Catholic identity</li>
<li>Improved learning outcomes for all students</li>
<li>Strengthening and development of expert teacher practice, leadership formation and capacity building</li>
<li>Ongoing commitment to effective and supportive governance.</li>

We are seeking a suitably qualified applicant with a proven record of leadership and who aspires to principalship. The position will initially be offered on a fixed-term basis for three years, with opportunity for renewal. The successful applicant will be offered ongoing employment at the School as a teacher.</p>
