The Religious Education Coordinator is a key member of the leadership team of a Catholic school and exercises his or her ministry under the leadership of the Principal within the school leadership team, in collaboration with clergy, teachers, parents, Catholic Education staff and other members of the faith community who contribute to the life of the Catholic school.</p> <p>The responsibilities of the Religious Education Coordinator in the Diocese of Bathurst are drawn from three key domains of leadership:&nbsp;</p> <ul> <li><strong>Religious Leadership:</strong> Gives personal witness to Catholic values; articulates an understanding of the Catholic tradition; assists the principal to ensure the school community is visibly Catholic and works collaboratively with the Principal, Clergy and parish teams identifying, developing and leading opportunities to connect school and parish in the evangelising mission of the Church; leads the liturgical and prayer life of the school community; ensures a rich spiritual and sacramental life for all within the school community; and promotes a commitment to social justice as part of our call to missionary discipleship.</li> <li><strong>Educational Leadership:</strong> Exemplifies excellence in teaching in Religious Education that demonstrates knowledge of curriculum, student learning and pedagogical content knowledge; ensures curriculum requirements are in place to support a cohesive religious education program including scope and sequence and assessment practices; leads the ongoing development of effective and contemporary pedagogy in Religious Education; ensures inclusive teaching practices to support the learning of all students in religious education; and assists the principal in the implementation of a Catholic world view across the curriculum.</li> <li><strong>Enabling Leadership:</strong> Develops processes for the induction, mentoring, and overall leadership of RE teachers in collaboration with the principal; encourages and supports teachers to meet Religious Education accreditation requirements; works collaboratively with other members of the school’s faith formation team including but not limited to the youth minister, parish sacramental coordinator and others;
