Role</strong></p> <p>In this specialist advisory role, you will partner closely with principals and school teams to support effective, student-centred decision-making.</p> <p>You will provide subject matter expertise in complex behaviour matters, contribute to individual support plans, case collaboration, and help build sustainable, whole-school capability through coaching and professional learning.</p> <p>The Behaviour Specialist role includes a strong focus on functional behaviour assessment, evidence-based intervention planning, and whole-school behaviour support frameworks</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Work in partnership with principals and school teams to support informed, student-centred decision-making for students and families.</li> <li>Provide specialist advice and guidance in complex matters involving enrolled students, including behaviour, attendance, significant adjustments and enrolment-related decisions.</li> <li>Contribute to case collaboration and coordinated, multidisciplinary responses.</li> <li>Design and deliver professional learning that builds consistent and effective practice across schools.</li> <li>Maintain accurate, timely documentation and case notes in line with legislative and safeguarding requirements.</li> <li>Collaborate with Learning Partners, other specialists and system teams to ensure coherent support to schools.</li> <li> <p>Contribute professional insight and data to support system planning and continuous improvement.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>In addition, as Behaviour Specialist you will:</strong></p></li> <li>Apply functional approaches to behaviour, including conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA) and analysing data to understand the purpose and context of behaviour.</li> <li>Develop and support the implementation of individual Behaviour Support Plans that are evidence-based, practical and student-centred.</li> <li>Support schools to design, implement and sustain whole-school positive behaviour plans the explicitly teach expected behaviours.</li> <li>Coach and mentor school staff to build their confidence and capability in responding to and preventing challenging behaviours utilising tiered support systems.</li> <li>Provide guidance on legislative and policy compliance requirements relating to behaviour management and student behaviour support.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>You are a confident, collaborative professional with specialist expertise in behaviour support and a practical, evidence-based approach to partnering with schools.</p> <p><strong>You will bring:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated expertise in behaviour assessment, intervention, and whole-school positive behaviour support.</li> <li>Experience conducting Functional Behaviour Assessments and developing evidence-based Behaviour Support Plans.</li> <li>Ability to translate complex assessment data into clear, practical strategies for teachers and school leaders.</li> <li>Experience supporting schools through coaching, mentoring or advisory work.</li> <li>Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policy and compliance requirements relating to behaviour, disability and student wellbeing.</li> <li>Excellent communication, professional judgement and documentation skills.</li> <li>Experience working in or alongside school settings is highly regarded.</li> <li>Qualifications in Psychology, Education, Behaviour Analysis, Special Education or a related field.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Join Us?</strong></p>
