<p>St. Augustine's Primary School, Maryborough is looking for a qualified classroom teacher to join a dynamic and vibrant professional learning community. Applications are sought from enthusiastic and qualified teachers with current VIT registration, a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education as well as the safety and wellbeing of children. The successful applicant will:</p>
<p>- be a skilled and innovative classroom teacher with a passion for teaching and learning and experience in, or knowledge of, contemporary pedagogical approaches.</p>
<p>- have a demonstrated commitment to Catholic education</p>
<p>- have a demonstrated commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children.</p>
<p>- be able to demonstrate an understanding in contemporary teaching pedagogies and the analysis and use of data to inform their teaching. They will possess the skills and abilities necessary to provide students with a rich and rewarding educational experience and will embrace a collegial, team-based approach to teaching and learning.</p>
<p>-develop and nurture ongoing positive relationships within our school community, communicate effectively and promote a positive school culture that incorporates shared staff values and beliefs.</p>
<p>-have a current registration with Victorian Institute of Teaching </p>

Learning at St. Augustine’s Catholic School is based on the person of Jesus Christ and our School’s mission is to share the Gospel values with our children, led by a professional learning community of teachers who aim to create a school environment that is learning enriched, community oriented and child-centred.
Our School is named after St. Augustine (354-430) who was bishop of the Roman Province of Hippo in North Africa and is remembered as a great preacher, teacher and writer. St. Augustine taught that the best way to Christ is through Scriptures. St Augustines Catholic School continues to inspire our children to discover Augustine’s invitation to take up the Scriptures and read them.
The Brigidine Sisters began teaching children in the Parish hall in 1902. Our school is dedicated to the Brigidine heritage and the Brigidine Sisters who taught at St. Augustines Catholic School. The Brigidine Cross, woven from rushes, is customarily placed above an entrance door as a sign of welcome and hospitality. At its heart is the lamp of learning encased in a circle symbolising oneness with God.
Our School vision and mission encapsulate both the welcome and hospitality of the Brigidine Religious Order and the life-long learning of St. Augustine.
The current population of the school is 252 pupils who are educated across 12 classrooms.
