Sacred Heart is seeking a dedicated and engaging Italian (LOTE) Teacher to join our inclusive school community. This is a part-time replacement position (0.34 FTE), delivering approximately 7 hours of teaching across two days (Monday and Tuesday), with hours typically between 9:00am–3:30pm. The role will commence towards the end of Term 2, replacing a staff member on leave, with the potential for ongoing opportunities based on school needs. The role will commence as soon as possible. Fixed-term opportunities may be offered through to 26 January 2027, with the liklihood of extension.

<p>Our Italian (LOTE) Teacher plays an important role in fostering a vibrant, inclusive and engaging learning environment where every student feels confident to explore language and culture. This role supports students to develop an appreciation for Italian language and culture through creative, interactive and accessible learning experiences.</p> <p>With a focus on lower cognitive, hands-on and creative activities, the role encourages curiosity, participation and confidence in language learning. Through positive relationships and engaging teaching practices, students are supported to experience success, build cultural awareness, and develop a love of learning.</p> <p><strong>The successful applicant will:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Catholic identity and mission of the school</li> <li>Build positive, respectful relationships with students, staff and families</li> <li>Deliver engaging Italian lessons with a focus on creativity, participation and enjoyment</li> <li>Use a range of interactive and low-demand cognitive strategies to support all learners</li> <li>Work collaboratively with staff to support student engagement and inclusion</li> <li>Show flexibility, initiative and strong organisational skills</li> <li>Communicate effectively and maintain professionalism in all interactions</li> <li>Contribute positively to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Demonstrated ability to engage students in language learning through creative and interactive approaches</li> <li>Understanding of inclusive practices and the ability to support diverse learners</li> <li>Capacity to build positive relationships that support student confidence and participation</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively and contribute to a team environment</li> <li>Strong communication and organisational skills</li> <li>Commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice</li> <li>Experience teaching Italian or Languages (desirable but not required)<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul> <p><strong>Special Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Current Working with Children Check (Employee) and National Police Check</li> <li>Current First Aid, Anaphylaxis, Asthma, and Mandatory Reporting training (or willingness to obtain)</li> <li>Appropriate teaching qualifications and VIT registration</li> <li>Commitment to the Child Safe Standards, Catholic ethos, and DOBCEL policies and procedures<br> &nbsp;</li> </ul>
