The College has experienced unprecedented enrolment growth in response to our transition to a K-12, co-educational, dual campus College. As such, an exciting opportunity exists for an experienced maintenance person to join the St Mary's Cathedral College team, to undertake general and maintenance work to ensure a clean, orderly and safe environment that enables enhanced student learning outcomes.<br><br>
This is a full-time, ongoing role, five days per week, with an immediate start or a negotiated commencement date.<br><br><strong>About You</strong><br><br><strong>Your responsibilities will include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>non-specialised repair work</li>
<li>coordinating daily building and grounds maintenance and cleaning tasks, such as rubbish removal on pathways, in playgrounds, servicing of gates and doors etc</li>
<li>carrying out minor garden maintenance - leaf blowing, basic upkeep of grounds and gardens, cleaning as necessary</li>
<li>providing assistance to qualified tradespersons in building and furniture maintenance</li>
<li>ensuring all work is carried out in accordance with Work Health and Safety legislation and the College's own WH&S guidelines</li>
<li>assisting with setting up of special events and functions around the school, e.g. sports and open days</li>
<li>undertaking any other duties as requested by the Principal, Business Manager, and/or Principal's Delegate.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>It is essential that you:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>have experience as a maintenance person in a school or similar environment and in the use of all grounds maintenance equipment</li>
<li>have demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team</li>
<li>have demonstrated ability to follow direction, prioritise and meet set deadlines</li>
<li>have demonstrated interpersonal skills in working with a range of personnel</li>
<li>provide a safe, secure and caring environment for all students and staff and show a strong personal commitment to the Catholic ethos and Mission of the College.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Experience and Qualifications:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>does not have to have a trade qualification (certificate III), but has a skill level which assumes and requires knowledge, training or experience relevant to the duties to<br>
be performed</li>
<li>previous experience in a school environment is desired but not essential.</li>
