Catherine McAuley College Bendigo is seeking an experienced and values‑driven educational leader to join the College Executive as Acting Assistant Principal – Faith, Mission and Community. This full‑time, fixed‑term role (maternity leave replacement) runs from 11 May 2026 to 26 January 2027 and offers a significant opportunity to provide strategic leadership in Catholic identity, faith formation, and community engagement, grounded in the Mercy charism.

<p>We are seeking an experienced, values‑driven educational leader to join our College Executive in the key role of Acting Assistant Principal – Faith, Mission and Community for a full‑time fixed‑term appointment covering maternity leave from 11 May 2026 until 26 January 2027.</p>
<p>Remuneration and conditions for this role are in accordance with the Victorian Catholic Education Multi‑Enterprise Agreement (CEMEA) 2022, Deputy Principal – Category B.</p>
<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Acting Assistant Principal – Faith, Mission & Community provides strategic leadership in shaping and sustaining the Catholic identity of the College. Working collaboratively with the Principal and Executive Leadership Team, this role leads Religious Education, faith formation, liturgical life, social justice initiatives and community partnerships across the College.</p>
<p>This is a multifaceted leadership position that plays a pivotal role in student wellbeing, staff formation and the lived expression of Mercy values within our learning community.</p>
<p>The role includes a <strong>0.4 FTE teaching load</strong>.</p>
<p><strong>Key responsibilities include:</strong></p>

<li>Leading the Catholic identity, ethos and faith life of the College</li>
<li>Strategic oversight of Religious Education curriculum, pedagogy and accreditation</li>
<li>Leadership of liturgical, sacramental, retreat and prayer programs</li>
<li>Building strong partnerships with parishes, the Sandhurst Diocese and Mercy ministries</li>
<li>Leading social justice, stewardship and reGEN sustainability initiatives</li>
<li>Supporting staff spiritual formation and professional growth</li>
<li>Contributing to whole‑school improvement, innovation and change</li>
<li>Active participation in student community life and College leadership</li>

<p><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Current Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) registration </li>
<li>Accreditation to teach in a Catholic school </li>
<li>Relevant postgraduate qualifications (or working towards) </li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership capability aligned with AITSL standards </li>
<li>Capacity to lead religious identity and faith formation within a Catholic secondary context</li>
