We are seeking a passionate and dedicated TAS / STEM Teacher with the ability to teach Technology, Computing & future Stage 6 Enterprise Computing. The successful applicant will demonstrate strong subject knowledge, effective classroom practice, and a commitment to fostering excellence in student learning.

<p><strong>TAS/STEM Teacher</strong></p> <p><strong>St Mary &amp; St Mina's Coptic Orthodox College</strong><br> Rockdale, Sydney NSW, Australia<br> Full-time | $90,000 – $120,000 per year</p> <p><strong>Commencing:</strong> Term 2, 2026<br><strong>Closing Date:</strong> Friday 24th April 2026</p> <p>St Mary &amp; St Mina's Coptic Orthodox College is an independent co-educational K–12 Christian school committed to providing high-quality education grounded in the values and teachings of the Coptic Orthodox faith. We strive to develop students who are spiritually grounded, intellectually curious, and socially responsible.</p> <p>We are seeking a passionate and dedicated TAS/STEM Teacher to join our TAS faculty and contribute to the continued growth of Technology and Applied Studies across the College. The successful applicant will be an engaging and innovative educator who fosters academic excellence, promotes problem-solving and critical thinking, and models a genuine passion for teaching and learning in a contemporary STEM environment.</p> <p>The successful applicant will report directly to the Head of TAS, who reports to the Head of Teaching &amp; Learning, and will work collaboratively with faculty members to support high-quality teaching and learning.</p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>The TAS/STEM Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons across a range of TAS subjects, while contributing positively to the culture and development of the faculty.</p> <p>The TAS faculty includes subjects such as Computing Technology, Design and Technology, Digital Technologies, Food Technology and other TAS electives. A particular focus of this role will include teaching Computing Technology in Years 9 and 10.</p> <p>The successful candidate will:</p> <ul> <li>Demonstrate a strong commitment to the Christian ethos and Coptic Orthodox values of the College.</li> <li>Deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs across a range of TAS subjects, including Computing Technology (Years 9–10).</li> <li>Work collaboratively with the Head of TAS and faculty members in curriculum planning, assessment, and reporting.</li> <li>Contribute to the development and implementation of new syllabus programming, ensuring alignment with current NESA requirements.</li> <li>Support the design of engaging, future-focused learning experiences that develop students’ digital literacy, creativity, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Integrate STEM principles and innovative technologies into classroom practice where appropriate.</li> <li>Participate actively in faculty meetings, professional learning, and whole-school initiatives.</li> <li>Build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, contributing to a supportive and inclusive school community.</li> </ul> <p>Experience teaching Stage 6 TAS subjects (e.g. Software Engineering, IPT, or Design and Technology) will be viewed favourably but is not essential.</p> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria</strong></p> <p>Applicants should address the following criteria in their written response (maximum two pages):</p> <ul> <li>Capacity to uphold and promote the Christian ethos and Coptic Orthodox values of the College in all aspects of school life.</li> <li>Demonstrated experience teaching TAS subjects, particularly Computing Technology, with the ability to deliver engaging and effective lessons.</li> <li>Knowledge of current NESA syllabuses and assessment practices within TAS/STEM, including experience or willingness to contribute to new syllabus programming.</li> <li>Ability to integrate contemporary technologies and STEM approaches into teaching and learning.</li> <li>Ability to work collaboratively within a faculty team and contribute positively to faculty initiatives.</li> <li>Commitment to reflective teaching practice and ongoing professional learning.</li> <li>Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, fostering a supportive and inclusive learning environment.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>A recognised teaching qualification.</li> <li>Current NESA accreditation (Provisional, Conditional, or Proficient).</li> <li>A current NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Application Requirements</strong></p> <p>Applicants are asked to include the following in their submission:</p> <ul> <li>Cover Letter outlining your interest in the role and a brief statement of educational philosophy (1 page).</li> <li>Curriculum Vitae (CV) detailing teaching and other relevant experience.</li> <li>A written response to the Key Selection Criteria (maximum of 2 pages).</li> <li>NSW Working with Children Check (WWCC) details.</li> </ul>
