<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>Reporting to the School Support & Achievement Partner, this role will be responsible for managing our school counselling service and champion excellence in student mental health and wellbeing across our schools. This role will provide clinical leadership, professional supervision and operational direction to a team of counsellors, ensuring safe, consistent and evidence-based support for students and school communities.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, coach and supervise a team of K–12 school counsellors, ensuring practice aligns with professional standards (APS/AASW) and organisational frameworks.</li>
<li>Ensure counsellors meet the requirements of their professional accreditation and regulatory bodies (e.g., AHPRA, APS, AASW)</li>
<li>Coordinate and guide the use of psychometric mental health screeners and assessments; oversee appropriate delivery‑ and quality assurance</li>
<li>Plan and deliver professional learning for counsellors (including vendor engagement) to build capability and consistency of practice</li>
<li>Oversee clinical supervision (and provide supervision directly) with a culture of reflective practice and continuous improvement.</li>
<li>Provide expert advice on complex mental health‑ presentations, risk, and case escalation; collaborate with principals and internal partners.</li>
<li>Uphold and promote response protocols and policies related to behaviour, student wellbeing and significant mental health concerns (e.g., Part 5A, ‑self-harm‑, suicidal ideation, problematic sexualised behaviour)</li>
<li>Maintain privacy compliant records and high standards‑ of documentation aligned to APS expectations.</li>
</ul>
<p> <strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>A credible clinical leader who is calm under pressure and passionate about building capability in others. You will have:</p>
<ul>
<li>Registration as a Psychologist (AHPRA) or qualifications as a Social Worker with relevant professional accreditation. Experience as, or eligibility to be, a clinical supervisor is highly regarded. (The role is responsible for ensuring counsellors meet accreditation and regulatory requirements.)</li>
<li>Demonstrated leadership of counselling services in school or allied settings, including supervision, quality assurance and service improvement.</li>
<li>Strong judgement in risk assessment and escalation for students at risk‑ and the ability to partner effectively with principals and internal stakeholders.</li>
<li>Excellent communication, data informed ‑decision making‑, and meticulous record‑keeping.</li>
<li>Strong stakeholder management skills and ability to work with cross functional teams in complex organisation.</li>
