<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The College invites applications for suitable qualified individuals for a canteen assistant position to commence Term 2, 2026. This position will be up to 0.24 FTE (approximately 9 hours per week, over 2 days per week), Fixed Term contract to 20th December 2026, Category D. This position is for our McAuley Campus, Camperdown. </p>
<p><strong>Some of the Key Responsibilities of this role will include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>To provide a commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children and young people;</li>
<li>The Canteen Assistant is responsible for assisting the Canteen coordinator in the operation of the school canteen according to the policies and procedures of Mercy Regional College. </li>
<li>The Canteen Assistant will support the development of strong relationships within the school community with the students, parents and volunteers, staff, and food suppliers.</li>

<p><strong>Key Selection Criteria </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated commitment to Catholic Education and to the safety, wellbeing and protection of children;</li>
<li>Prior experience in an education setting working with children or young people is desirable;</li>
<li>A collegial and collaborative approach to engaging with others;</li>
<li>High Level Information Communication Technology skills;</li>
<li>Certificate in Food Handling Practices or willingness to complete certificate.</li>
<li>Genuine interest in working in a school environment.</li>
<li>Experience in food preparation practices, eg. Café or restaurant experience.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills.</li>
<li>Punctual and reliable.</li>
<li>Ability to work under pressure and unaided. </li>
