If this is not able to be achieved, then it is expected that the new Principal will commence from 1 January 2027.

The College’s contemporary learning model recognises that the world is changing rapidly and prioritises educating students for success in a future that may be vastly different from the present. All teaching and learning staff at Faith are trained in contemporary learning methods and ensure creativity, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving are woven into every subject, activity and lesson.

An exciting facet of the College’s contemporary learning journey is the shift away from year levels and towards educational phases. Phase learning provides students with more flexibility, agency and choice in their learning, which boosts engagement in their schooling journey.

There are three educational phases at Faith Lutheran College being Foundation Phase (Years 7-8), Exploration Phase (Years 9-10) and Graduate Phase (Years 11-12). All students in the College participate in small group mentoring sessions with key teachers called Phase Coaches. These sessions focus on helping students develop positive academic habits and routines, their personal wellbeing, social-emotional learning, and support for student subject selection and pathway mapping.

The College believes that learning works best when students feel safe, supported, and connected. That’s why the College created ‘Our Way’ - a framework that brings together the two things that shape every student’s success: learning and wellbeing. Our Way is built on a simple truth: learning and wellbeing are inseparable. When students feel safe, connected, and supported, they’re able to take risks, think deeply, and grow.

Our Way isn’t a program or a slogan: it’s the way the College teaches, the way they lead, and the way they care. It shapes what learning looks like in classrooms, how relationships are built, how students are supported, and how young people are helped to grow into confident, capable learners. Our Way is brought to life through four practices:

Adventurous Learning

Compassionate Learning

Purposeful Learning

Relational Learning

Each practice describes the kind of environment that is intentionally created at Faith - the kind where students can thrive, not just survive.

Worship is central to college life. Every school week, the College hosts two Chapel services. Chapel is an important time, where staff and students come together in fellowship with the opportunity to participate and develop one’s faith journey. Attendees are asked to engage with the service, which can include singing and reciting of Scripture and prayer.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a high-performing, motivated and energetic educational leader with a heart for contemporary teaching and learning, a commitment to excellence, and an awareness of the importance of engaging with students, staff, parents, and the wider community to build relationships, maintain momentum and realise the College’s vision.

The successful applicant will:

Be an active communicant member of the Lutheran Church of Australia and New Zealand (LCANZ).

Be accredited as a leader in Lutheran Schools or be eligible and willing to work towards accreditation.

Have significant and successful experience in teaching and educational administration.

Have the capacity for Christian witnessing and servant leadership to further the nurturing of the Christian mission of the school and encourage and develop a caring community.

Hold or be eligible for teacher registration in Queensland through the Queensland College of Teachers.
