Emmaus Catholic Primary School invites applications for a Learning Support Officer (LSO) to commence in Term 2 on Tuesday, April 20, 2026.
This role is for a fixed term contract and five days per week from 9am - 3pm.

<p>Learning Support Officers at Emmaus Catholic Primary School work with students with diverse learning needs within the learning spaces, either on a one to one basis or in small group situations. The support can encompass a range of needs, including physical, personal care, intellectual, and social-emotional development.</p>

<p>The successful applicant will: </p>
<ul>
<li>be fully supportive of the teaching and learning of the Catholic ethos and tradition. </li>
<li>have had experience and/or qualifications in working with primary aged children (preferred).</li>
<li>demonstrate an awareness of and a commitment to the safety and wellbeing of children. </li>
<li>demonstrate knowledge and skills in inclusive learning practises for children with diverse learning needs.</li>
<li>demonstrate unconditional positive regard, and an ability to be flexible and energised.</li>
<li>have a proven commitment to developing independence in students with diverse learning needs. </li>
<li>have established the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve high levels of learning. </li>
<li>understand the balance between using initiative, seeking direction and support from a classroom teacher.</li>
</ul>

<p>All applicants will be subject to a Working with Children Check and a National Police Record Check. </p>

<p>Applicants who are shortlisted will be required to participate in an interview process in the coming weeks. This interview process will occur with members of the school leadership team (Principal and Learning Diversity Leaders).</p>
