<p>Loreto College Ballarat, one of regional Victoria’s leading Catholic girls’ schools invites applications for the position of <strong>Deputy Principal</strong>.</p> <p>Founded in 1875 by Mother Gonzaga Barry, Loreto College Ballarat was the first Loreto school in Australia and continues in the tradition of Mary Ward. The five values of a Loreto education - Freedom, Justice, Sincerity, Verity and Felicity underpin all aspects of College life.</p> <p>The Deputy Principal plays a pivotal role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and delivering high-quality, student-centred learning that encourages personal excellence. Working closely with the Principal and Leadership Team, the Deputy Principal will help shape a dynamic and innovative learning community in the Mary Ward tradition.</p> <p>The role carries significant responsibility for the effective day-to-day administration of the College and for ensuring compliance with statutory and legislative requirements. The Deputy Principal has shared responsibility for the implementation of the College’s Strategic Plan and Master Plans and deputising for the Principal as required.</p> <p>A key focus of the position is leading innovation and change in alignment with the College’s mission and vision. The Deputy Principal will foster a strong, positive and trusting learning culture and strategically drive contemporary educational practice that will champion student agency and achievement. The role involves building collaborative professional relationships across the College and works closely with the Assistant Principals to ensure alignment across pedagogy, student wellbeing and Catholic identity. The successful candidate will promote personal excellence for every student, lead evidence-based teaching practice, and support data-informed improvement in student outcomes. They will contribute to strengthening the Catholic identity of the College and nurturing the charism of Mary Ward within the school community.</p> <p>Applicants will demonstrate significant leadership experience in an educational setting, a strong commitment to girls’ education and a proven capacity to lead improvement and change with clarity and accountability. They will possess outstanding interpersonal, organisational and communication skills with the ability to inspire and develop staff in a high-performing culture. A demonstrated commitment to child safety, wellbeing and inclusion is essential, as is a deep understanding of contemporary educational practice.
