<p>We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Officer to join our Stewart Centre for Individual Learning, supporting senior students (Years 10-12) who require specialist assistance to access learning and participate fully in College life.</p>
<p><strong> About the Role</strong></p>
<p>Learning Support Officers at John Paul College work under the direction of the Director of Inclusion and Wellbeing and support students in classrooms, small groups, or one-to-one settings, as directed. </p>
<p>Responsibilities include:</p>
<ul>
<li>Supporting learning in practical ways such as organisation, scribing, typing support, explaining tasks, assisting with planning and summaries, and preparing teaching aids (in consultation with teaching staff).</li>
<li>Communicating learning updates through appropriate channels (such as student planners/email) and contributing to supportive, strengths-based student engagement.</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate and professional records of support sessions and student progress, behaviour, and social/emotional considerations.</li>
<li>Supporting students through the Stewart Centre for Individual Learning Homework Club (as required).</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p><strong> </strong>The successful applicant will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrate an understanding of, and commitment to, the ethos and mission of Catholic education</li>
<li>Have experience working with children and the ability to support diverse learning and wellbeing needs in a school setting.</li>
<li>Work effectively as part of a team and take direction while also showing initiative and sound judgement.</li>
<li>Demonstrate a commitment to child safety, appropriate professional boundaries, and suitable behaviours when engaging with children.</li>
<li>Have experience working with older adolescents and possess the confidence to support senior secondary students with their learning, organisation, and wellbeing needs.</li>
<li>Show a commitment to ongoing professional learning and reflective practice</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications & Experience</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience supporting students with additional learning needs.</li>
<li>A current Working with Children Check and National Police Check are required</li>

<p><strong>Position Details:</strong></p>

<li>Part-time (0.92FTE, working 8.00am to 3.30pm Monday to Friday), fixed term position</li>
<li>Commencing as soon as possible</li>
<li>Category B, Education Support Employee under the Catholic Education Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2022.</li>
