<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>Reporting to the Manager(s): Family Wellbeing and Education, the Education Officer: Family Wellbeing and Education is responsible for mentoring, coaching and supporting the Family Educators to excel in their roles and to support the delivery of wellbeing initiatives, faith formation and evangelisation opportunities to parents and families at various stages of their own faith journey and practice.</p>
<p>The main accountabilities of the Education Officer: Family Wellbeing and Education include but are not limited to:</p>
<ul>
<li>mentoring, coaching and supporting the work of Family Educators</li>
<li>leading professional development opportunities with Family Educators</li>
<li>supporting the wellbeing of Family Educators</li>
<li>modelling Religious Leadership through an active witness to the Gospel in one's daily work and interactions with others</li>
<li>strengthening the capacity of Family Educators to establish and develop key relationships with school leadership team members and parish priests</li>
<li>actively supporting the recruitment and induction of Family Educators</li>
<li>organising, supporting and facilitating family evangelisation, parent and family wellbeing events and retreats</li>
<li>developing a workplace culture which promotes network collaboration</li>
<li>researching trends in Family Wellbeing and Education so as to address the needs of parents and inform system programs and initiatives</li>
<li>contributing to the development of Board Papers, reports and presentations</li>
<li>actively supporting projects and initiatives of the Mission & Identity (M&I) Directorate</li>
<li>ensuring that key initiatives of the M&I Directorate are promoted on social media and through other relevant publications</li>
<li>participating in and contributing to formation programs and other events facilitated by Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS)</li>
<li>promoting and implementing SCS' mission and vision 'To know and love Christ through learning and Thriving Catholic communities through excellent teaching and learning.'</li>
<li>promoting and abiding by SCSs' values of empathy, curiosity, excellence, collaboration and truth</li>
<li>any other duties and projects as directed by the Manager: Family Wellbeing and Education.</li>

<p><strong>About You</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will also possess the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>an approved teaching qualification recognised by NESA for teacher accreditation or qualifications deemed by the Director of Mission & Identity as equivalent to AQF 7 or higher, with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience to family wellbeing or education</li>
<li>is a practising Catholic with evidence of ongoing commitment to the teachings of the Catholic Church and engagement in the life of a Catholic faith community such as a parish or an established community within the Catholic Church</li>
<li>success in initiating and delivering a range of opportunities and forums to connect/reconnect and engage parents and families with the religious life of the school and parish</li>
<li>experience in leading/managing programs and projects within Catholic Education, parish ministry or secular industry</li>
<li>ability to articulate an understanding of the evangelising and catechising mission of the Catholic Church</li>
<li>willingness to respect, support, and uphold the mission, ethos, and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of SCS</li>
<li>a current driver's licence.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Desirable</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>qualifications at AQF 8 (Bachelor's Degree with honours) or higher in Education, Religious Education, Theology or Pastoral Ministry</li>
<li>a postgraduate qualification or a willingness to obtain a postgraduate qualification in a relevant area of study (e.g. Education, Community Service, Theological Studies, Pastoral Care)</li>
<li>teacher qualifications with Religious Education-Eligible for Accreditation to Teach Religious Education.</li>
