The advertised position is for a Learning Support Officer (3 days per week). This position provides the successful applicant an opportunity to work in a dynamic, vibrant and supportive team.

<p>A new opportunity has opened up for a Learning Support Officer to join the St Bernard's Parish Primary School team of educational support staff.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The Learning Support Officer (LSO) works to support students identified with additional needs.&nbsp;All our LSO's work under the direction of the Learning Diversity Leader and in collaboration with classroom teachers. &nbsp;The LSO's role is to provide support to enable the students equal access to the curriculum .&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>The successful applicant must be available to work Monday to Wednesday 8.30am - 3.00pm (the days of the week can be negotiated). &nbsp;Experience working with children with additional needs would be an advantage but not necessary.</p> <p>The successful applicant will be required to begin working as soon as practicable.</p> <p>The successful applicant will:</p> <ul> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;possess a current WWCC and Police Check</li> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;demonstrate some knowledge in how to support students in their learning</li> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team</li> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;demonstrate a passion for learning and instill this in the students</li> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;demonstrate the capacity to work with individual or small groups of students&nbsp;</li> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;have the capacity to enrich and enhance the development of our school culture</li> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;have some experience in working with students with additional needs</li> <li>&nbsp; &nbsp;be flexible and open to working with students across all year levels.&nbsp;</li> </ul> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Special Requirements</strong><br> Applicants must have&nbsp;a commitment to the ethos of Catholic education.</p> <p>Please add the names of three referees including mobile contact numbers, one of whom should be the most current Principal/employer if applicable.&nbsp;</p> <p>Please email a copy of your current Resume along with a brief cover letter addressed to the Principal Sister Mary Sarah Galbraith:&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;</strong><a href="mailto:<a href='mailto:principal@sbbacchusmarsh.catholic.edu.au?subject=Learning%20Support%20Officer%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29'>principal@sbbacchusmarsh.catholic.edu.au</a>?subject=Learning%20Support%20Officer%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29" rel="nofollow"></a><a href="mailto:principal@sbbacchusmarsh.catholic.edu.au?subject=Learning%20Support%20Officer%20position%20%28via%20Teachers%20On%20Net%29">principal@sbbacchusmarsh.catholic.edu.au</a></p> <p>Please feel free to email the Principal if you have any specific questions.</p> <p><strong><u>Applications close: Thursday 5th March, 2026.</u></strong><br> &nbsp;</p> <p><i>St Bernard's Primary School promotes the safety, wellbeing and inclusion of all children.</i><br> &nbsp;</p>
