Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong (CEDoW) comprises 38 Catholic schools with more then 20,000 students enrolled across the Illawarra, Macarthur, Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands regions.

<p><strong>Location:</strong> Catholic Education Office, Wollongong</p> <ul> <li>Location: Wollongong &amp; Campbelltown<br> (serving Illawarra, Macarthur, Southern Highlands, and Shoalhaven)</li> <li>Contract: Full time, 5-year initial term</li> <li>Benefits: Purpose driven work, generous salary, motor vehicle and professional and leadership development opportunities</li> </ul> <p><strong>THE OPPORTUNITY&nbsp;</strong></p> <p>The Executive Director of Schools invites applications for the full time position of Team Leader, Clinical Practice and Student Safety which operates as part of the Improvement, Learning &amp; Wellbeing team supporting the 38 systemic Catholic schools in the Diocese of Wollongong.</p> <p>Reporting to the Head of Wellbeing and Student Support, you will play a pivotal role in leading our psychologists and child safety advisors. This is a senior appointment designed for a professional who can balance high-level clinical oversight with strategic advocacy, ensuring our schools remain safe, nurturing environments where every student can thrive.</p> <p><strong>YOUR IMPACT</strong></p> <p>As a key driver of clinical excellence and student safety, you will:</p> <ul> <li>Lead &amp; mentor: Supervise a dedicated team of child safety advisors and psychologists, fostering a culture of pastoral care, professional growth, and trauma-informed practice.</li> <li>Clinical oversight: Establish and implement consistent ‘ways of working’ for psychometric and child safety services across the Diocese.</li> <li>Strategic response: Provide expert advice on a range of matters including complex mental health presentation, Risk of Significant Harm (RoSH) and student sexualised behaviours.</li> <li>System improvement: Collaboratively develop a Clinical Governance Framework in partnership with stakeholders.</li> <li>Advocacy: Act as a bridge between school communities and external agencies to ensure robust compliance and student safety.</li> <li>System Strategic Execution: Contributing to the execution of CEDoW’s Lighting the Way strategic plan and implementation of the Faith, Learning &amp; Wellbeing Framework.</li> </ul> <p><strong>SELECTION CRITERIA</strong></p> <p>To be successful, you will need:</p> <ul> <li>Commitment to understand and support the Catholic Church’s Mission in Catholic Education and to represent the organisation in a professional manner in keeping with this Mission.</li> <li>Tertiary qualifications in mental health (eg: psychology, counselling, social work or similar).</li> <li>Demonstrated experience in child safety operations, mental health, and managing complex child protection cases.</li> <li>Proven expertise in the management of complex child protection matters, demonstrating high level understanding of abuse and trauma impact, child development and diverse needs.&nbsp;</li> <li>In-depth understanding of supporting students with complex learning, wellbeing, mental health, behavioural and safety needs. Prior experience operating within, or in partnership with, the education sector is highly regarded.</li> <li>Exceptional strategic thinking and problem solving skills, with the capacity to pre-empt barriers, pioneer solutions, gain strategic advantage and drive positive organisational change</li> <li>High standard of confidentiality, including Privacy requirements and other legislative provisions for the exchange of confidential information</li> <li>Further Requirements: A valid NSW Driver’s Licence and a current Working with Children Check (WWCC).</li> </ul> <p><strong>WHY WORK WITH CEDOW?</strong></p> <p>At CEDoW, we believe in supporting those who support our students.
