We invite applications for the Head of Junior School. We are seeking a strategic educational leader to join our executive team in Semester 2.
<p><strong>Role Description</strong></p>
<p>The Head of Junior School is a member of the College Executive Team.</p>
<p>The Head of Junior School is responsible to the Headmaster and is expected to contribute to planning for the future as well as managing significant aspects of the daily life of the Junior School.</p>
<p>The Head of Junior School, in conjunction with the other members of the Executive, articulates a vision for educational excellence; establishes a learning environment that is characterised by organisation, confidence, persistence and support, and works with staff, parents and the community to implement the College’s strategic agenda within Prep to Year 12.</p>
<p>Informed by the strong traditions of the College, the Head of Junior School oversees the teaching and learning program, including feedback and reporting, as well as the student wellbeing program. The Head of Junior School responsively sets benchmarks for performance and the achievement of challenging goals, and models continuous learning and performance improvement.</p>
<p>The key responsibilities of the Head of Junior School may be modified from time to time to ensure outcomes are coordinated with the Executive and the College’s strategic direction.</p>
<p>The Head of Junior School will be responsible for Prep to Year 6. The Deputy Heads of Junior School support the Head of Junior School.</p>
<p><strong>The Head of Junior School’s Role encompasses the following responsibilities:</strong></p>

<li>Strengthen the Christian climate on campus and ensure that the College’s stated Christian values underpin all activities of the College.</li>
<li>Maintain an Exceptional Learning Environment: Foster a teaching and learning atmosphere that ensures each student receives the highest quality education.</li>
<li>Prioritise Student Wellbeing: Oversee student enrolment, wellbeing, and discipline, always prioritising the best interests of the students.</li>
<li>Engage with the College Community: Foster genuine engagement with the College community and stakeholders through effective communication.</li>
<li>Providing effective leadership and management of the Junior School</li>
<li>Manage Student, Staff, Parent matters</li>
<li>Junior School Annual Operational Plan, planning and reporting cycle</li>
<li>Oversee curriculum in P-6</li>
<li>Join the Head of Senior School and Head of Middle School to lead the active collaboration between teachers of primary and secondary classes in the College.</li>
<li>Junior School implementation of Teaching & Learning Framework (P-6)</li>
<li>Coordinate Junior School Leadership Committees</li>
<li>Contribute to Sub Committee meetings – Education</li>
</ul>

<li>Promote the strategic focus of the College within teaching and learning and curriculum, upon quality teaching for continued improvement in teaching pedagogy and in student outcomes</li>
<li>Approve, monitor and supervise the teaching programs in the Junior School</li>
<li>Oversee student wellbeing</li>
<li>Actively supporting the co-curricular programs of the Junior School, as being able to add value to the learning opportunities the College offers students.</li>

<p><strong>Mandatory Requirements</strong></p>

<li>Registration or eligibility for registration as a teacher in Queensland.</li>
<li>Highly Desirable - Hold Advanced Qualifications: Possess appropriate post-graduate university qualifications.</li>
