<p><strong>About the College </strong></p>
<p>St Augustine's College - Sydney is a Catholic Congregational school for boys in Years 5 to 12, teaching the Augustinian values of Truth, Love and Community. <p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>We are seeking a proactive and creative Marketing Assistant join our team. This newly created position will report to our Head of Advancement and Marketing. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in marketing, offering hands-on experience across content, digital platforms, publications, events and brand management. This role is ideally full-time but could be part-time for the right candidate (min 30 hours/week).</p>
<p>We don’t expect candidates to have experience in every area—strength in a few is a great start, along with the right attitude, initiative and a willingness to learn.</p>
<p><strong>As our Marketing Assistant, your responsibilities will include:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Writing clear, engaging copy for newsletters, publications, social media, website updates, marketing collateral, media releases and event communications, and proof read with strong attention to detail.</li>
<li>Supporting the planning and production of College publications (e.g., yearbook, prospectus, annual reports, brochures, event collateral), coordinating layout, photography and content with staff and external suppliers while upholding brand guidelines.</li>
<li>Drafting, scheduling and publishing social content across Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn; curating posts, reels and stories; monitoring engagement and assisting with performance reporting.</li>
<li>Capturing photo and video content at College events and activities; preparing briefs for external providers; completing basic editing for digital and social.</li>
<li>Updating website content using the College CMS and supporting maintenance, uploads and general user experience improvements.</li>
<li>Assisting in planning, promoting and delivering College events (e.g., Open Days, community events), including on-the-day logistics, setup, collateral preparation and photography.</li>
<li>Liaising with printers, designers, photographers, videographers and agencies; managing briefs, timelines, feedback cycles and production schedules.</li>
<li>Providing administrative support within Marketing —asset filing, calendars, reporting and database updates—and assisting with market research and analytics.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>We welcome applicants with a mix of the following:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Strong writing and editing skills with a creative eye for storytelling.</li>
<li>Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.</li>
<li>Competence in photography/videography and basic editing.</li>
<li>Familiarity with CMS platforms.</li>
<li>Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Illustrator) or Canva.</li>
<li>Experience using social media scheduling tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite).</li>
<li>Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, agencies and suppliers.</li>
<li>Strong attention to detail, particularly in proofreading and brand consistency.</li>
<li>Initiative and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.</li>
<li>Understanding of brand identity management.</li>
<li>Commitment to the Catholic and St Augustine's educational values and child safety.</li>
<li>Tertiary qualifications (or currently studying) in Marketing, Communications, Design or a related field</li>
</ul>
