Part-time Teacher Assistant supporting Electro Technology, providing hands-on classroom support, workshop preparation, and safe learning environments for students.

<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>St Patrick’s College is seeking applications from self-motivated and enthusiastic individuals to join our VET Department as a part-time (34.43 hours per fortnight / 0.45 FTE) Teacher Assistant.&nbsp;This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about hands-on, practical learning and enjoys supporting young people as they develop industry-ready skills. In this position, you will assist with the preparation and organisation of tools, equipment, and materials for Electro Technology lessons, provide in-class support to teachers and students, and contribute to maintaining a safe and efficient workshop environment. Responsibilities also include assisting with stock ordering, equipment checks, and general housekeeping to ensure high-quality learning experiences within the Electro Technology space.</p> <p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>You will be someone who:</p> <ul> <li>Is self-motivated, enthusiastic, and reliable.</li> <li>Communicates effectively and professionally with staff and students.</li> <li>Works well independently and collaboratively within a team.</li> <li>Manages time effectively in a fast-paced environment.</li> <li>Brings strong interpersonal skills and a proactive approach to supporting learning.</li> <li>Has an interest in vocational education and hands-on learning.</li> <li>Has experience in the electro technology, electrical, or broader trade industry, or education support (desirable but not essential).</li> <li>Demonstrates initiative in supporting both teachers and students.</li> <li>Holds, or is willing to obtain, a current Working with Vulnerable People registration.</li> </ul> <p>CET supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing.&nbsp; The successful candidate will require satisfactory registrations relevant to child safety.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>St Patrick’s is a Catholic co-educational Year 7-12 college of approximately 1,500 students with a strong academic culture that encourages individual students to develop to their full potential through a broad educational experience.&nbsp; The College is structured&nbsp;into a three school model of learning,&nbsp;incorporating the Middle School (Years 7 and 8), Croagh Patrick (Year 9) and Senior School (Years 10-12).
