Since opening in 1961, Westminster’s vibrant sense of community has shaped our welcoming, down-to-earth character, enriched by School values of being brave, humble, kind, authentic, resilient and curious.</p> <p><strong>About the Senior School Teacher - Mathematics</strong></p> <p>We are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Mathematics Teacher to join our Mathematics faculty on a fixed term basis to backfill for a permanent staff member's secondment.&nbsp;To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate an ability and willingness to teach:</p> <ul> <li>Mathematics – must have the ability to teach Stage 2 Essential Maths.</li> <li>AIF (Activating Identities and Future)</li> <li>EIF (Exploring Identities and Future)&nbsp;</li> <li>Values Education</li> <li>TRT available to increase FTE</li> </ul> <p><strong>Key Selection Criteria: Qualifications, Skills and Experience</strong>:</p> <ul> <li>Relevant tertiary qualifications, specialising in teaching Stage 2 Essential Mathematics&nbsp;</li> <li>Demonstrated passion for, and experience in, teaching the relevant subject at senior student level</li> <li>Innovative and exemplary classroom practitioner with a proven record of student outcomes</li> <li>High level of ICT skills, knowledge and effective incorporation into classroom practice, including 1:1 laptop program</li> <li>The capacity to cater for students with a range of abilities and learning styles within the classroom and to monitor, and respond to, student progress</li> <li>The capability to work cooperatively with students, staff and parents to produce the best learning outcomes for students</li> <li>Regular and up to date professional knowledge and learning</li> <li>Support for the ethos of an independent, coeducational, Uniting Church school</li> <li>To be working at least at proficient level, as described by the teacher professional standards, striving towards working at the HALT descriptors.</li> </ul> <p>Suitable candidates will present as an enthusiastic, resilient and optimistic educator who is committed to lifelong learning and continuous improvement. You will have a high level of organisational and prioritising skills, with the ability to be flexible to manage multiple demands in a fast-paced environment.
