St Bernadette's is seeking a dynamic and passionate Mandarin L.O.T.E. Teacher to lead and deliver an inspiring language program in 2026. The successful applicant will bring creativity, cultural understanding, and a strong commitment to building students’ confidence and capability in learning a language other than English.

<p>St Bernadette's is seeking an enthusiastic Mandarin Teacher. This position is a two day (0.4 FTE), Fixed Term, position for 2026 with the possibility of being extended. (Preferred days Tues/Wed or Wed/Thurs)</p> <p>We are seeking a <strong>passionate and dedicated LOTE Mandarin Teacher</strong> to join our team. The successful candidate will deliver a high-quality LOTE Mandarin education program that engages students and encourages the use of Mandarin Language.&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Plan and implement a vibrant and developmentally appropriate Mandarin program aligned with the&nbsp;Victorian Curriculum (Languages – Chinese).</li> <li>Use the&nbsp;MACS Vision for Instruction to ensure explicit teaching, high expectations, and structured learning sequences.&nbsp;</li> <li>Ensure learning is active, collaborative and culturally responsive through the&nbsp;lens of MACS Vision for Engagement.&nbsp;</li> <li>Use assessment data and digital tools to track growth and differentiate instruction.</li> <li>Employ positive behaviour management strategies that promote active participation and curiosity in language learning.</li> </ul> <p><strong>The successful candidate will be/have:</strong></p> <ul> <li>suitably qualified to teach Mandarin</li> <li>exemplary with their classroom management skills</li> <li>committed to building positive relationships with children and creating learning environments where all are valued and challenged</li> <li>committed to Catholic Education and to the safety and wellbeing of all students</li> <li>a designer of engaging lessons that build confidence to support learners with English as an additional language.</li> <li>strong organisational skills and the ability to work collaboratively</li> <li>committed to ongoing learning and professional development</li> <li>prepared to be involved in extracurricular school activities</li> <li>hold current Victorian Institute of Teaching registration.</li> </ul> <p>To apply please email a cover letter, CV <strong>and </strong>completed Application Form to the Principal prior to the closing date.
