<p><strong>The Opportunity</strong></p> <p>St Patrick’s College is seeking a friendly, reliable and team-orientated Café Assistant to join our Ballygriffin Café team. This role offers the opportunity to work in a supportive and dynamic Catholic school environment as part of a team committed to providing healthy, nutritious and wholesome food for our College community.</p> <p>Working during school terms, the Café Assistant supports the day to day operations of the Café, including preparing and&nbsp;serving a range of food and beverage items, including breakfast, lunch and snack items, as well as supporting catering for College events where required. You will provide friendly and inclusive customer service, contribute to a positive team culture and ensure high standards of cleanliness, food safety and hygiene are maintained at all times.</p> <p>The Café Assistant plays an important role in promoting healthy eating and supporting the wellbeing of students, while helping to create a welcoming and vibrant College café environment. This is a full-time position (76 hours per fortnight) worked during school terms only, from 6.30am to 2.30pm, Monday to Friday.</p> <p>Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.</p> <p><strong>About You</strong></p> <p>As an organised, enthusiastic and excellent team player you will have:</p> <ul> <li>Friendly, approachable, and able to provide excellent customer service.</li> <li>Experience in food preparation in a commercial kitchen/similar role.</li> <li>Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.</li> <li>Enjoys working in a fast-paced team environment.</li> <li>Passionate about food, drinks, and café culture.</li> <li>Practical understanding of health, safety and hygiene in a kitchen environment, including safe food handling, storage and manual handling techniques and able to follow food safety and hygiene procedures.</li> <li>Flexible and adaptable to different tasks as required.</li> <li>Strong communication and interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Physically able to stand for extended periods and handle basic food preparation.</li> <li>Positive attitude and committed to contributing to a welcoming café environment.</li> <li>An understanding of and ability to contribute to the mission of St Patrick’s College as a Catholic school.</li> </ul> <p>CET supports the rights of children and young people and is committed to providing a safe and supportive environment directed at ensuring their safety and wellbeing.&nbsp; The successful candidate will require satisfactory registrations relevant to child safety.&nbsp; &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>About Us</strong></p> <p>St Patrick’s is a Catholic co-educational Year 7-12 college of approximately 1,500 students with a strong academic culture that encourages individual students to develop to their full potential through a broad educational experience.&nbsp; The College is structured&nbsp;into a three school model of learning,&nbsp;incorporating the Middle School (Years 7 and 8), Croagh Patrick (Year 9) and Senior School (Years 10-12).
