 We are looking for a caring, suitably qualified School Counsellor/Psychologist to commence in 2026. This role is across 3 campuses, Transition to year 12.

<p><strong>About the role</strong></p> <p><strong>We are seeking a permanent full time Counsellor to commence in term 1, 2026&nbsp;</strong></p> <p><strong>About the school</strong></p> <p>Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic College (OLSH) is a co-educational Catholic school in the Marist tradition with students from Transition to Year 12 across three campuses. Founded in 1938, OLSH has a long established commitment to educating the people of Alice Springs.&nbsp;The College has a proud history and a reputation for community involvement and academic achievement in an environment where the pastoral care and well-being of students is paramount.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities and Duties:</strong></p> <p>. To provide students with effective counselling support and assistance, and referral to appropriate agencies if required;</p> <ol> <li>To discuss in confidence any matters that relate to a student’s welfare with the appropriate personnel;</li> <li>To deal with students in a positive and growth-promoting way, at all times displaying respect and compassion;</li> <li>To maintain currency in personal professional learning and to undertake regular supervision of counselling practices;</li> <li>To support parent/family as appropriate through support and referral;</li> <li>To carry out other tasks as negotiated with the Principal.</li> </ol> <p><strong>Essential Criteria:</strong><br> &nbsp;</p> <ul> <li>Have a commitment to uphold the ethos of Catholic schools;</li> <li>Understand the employer’s requirements and act in accordance with Catholic Education and the College’s policies, guidelines and procedures;</li> <li>Participate in College meetings to inform and be informed; and,</li> <li>To commit to ongoing professional development, maintaining a portfolio of training undertaken.</li> <li>Appropriate tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, counselling or other relevant field.</li> <li>Experience working with children and adolescents.</li> <li>Excellent communication/interpersonal skills.</li> <li>Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development.</li> <li>Current driver's licence</li> </ul> <p>Relocation assistance and attractive remote salary packaging benefits may apply.</p>
