<p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Location:</strong> Within schools, CBD and WFH&nbsp;<br><strong>Start Date:</strong> By negotiation&nbsp;<br><strong>Application Closing Date:</strong> Tuesday, 16 December 2025&nbsp;<br><strong>Employment Type:</strong> Full-Time, Temporary (2 years)<br><br><strong>About the Role</strong><br><br> The Education Officer: Mathematics plays a key role in strengthening mathematical understanding and teaching practice across Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS). This position focuses on developing high-quality curriculum resources and supporting the professional growth of Mathematics teachers.<br><br> Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:</p> <ul> <li>partnering with the Curriculum and Innovation team to research, design, and implement high-impact evidence-based practices in Mathematics education</li> <li>designing and delivering high-quality professional learning for Mathematics</li> <li>developing and delivering quality curriculum resources</li> <li>strengthening Collective Teacher Efficacy in Mathematics across schools</li> <li>fostering collaborative practice among teachers and leaders of Mathematics</li> <li>building teacher capability in understanding how Mathematics and numeracy develop capabilities in students</li> <li>collaborating with the Curriculum and Innovation team to support a consistent approach to the teaching of Mathematics</li> <li>promoting positive attitudes toward Mathematics among students, families, and teachers</li> <li>any other duties as directed from time to time.</li> </ul> <p><strong>About You</strong><br><br> To be successful in this position, you must possess:</p> <ul> <li>a university Degree in Education and current NESA accreditation, operating at the Highly Accomplished or Lead level of the Australian Professional Standards for Teachers</li> <li>a minimum of five years of teaching experience in a school</li> <li>skills in leading staff professional learning</li> <li>deep pedagogical and content knowledge in Mathematics</li> <li>experience in using data analysis to inform educational decisions</li> <li>success in improving student outcomes and implementing school-wide initiatives</li> <li>excellent written, oral and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate contemporary educational trends</li> <li>a current driver's licence and access to a car</li> <li>a genuine willingness to respect, support and uphold the mission, ethos and teachings of the Catholic Church and the values of Sydney Catholic Schools.</li> </ul> <p>Desirable:</p> <ul> <li>postgraduate degree in Education or another discipline</li> <li>five years of middle leadership experience in a school</li> <li>knowledge of the Catholic Systemic Schools/Systems.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Why Work for Sydney Catholic Schools</strong><br><br> Joining <a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer" href="https://sydcatholicschools.nsw.edu.au/">Sydney Catholic Schools (SCS)</a> means being part of NSW's largest Catholic education community, with over 145 schools and 74,000 students.
