Bethany Catholic Primary School seeks a skilled Literacy Coach & Instructional Leader (POL 3) to drive instructional excellence, lead literacy growth, and build teacher capacity. Grounded in the Science of Learning, the role strengthens our knowledge-rich curriculum and offers future leadership opportunities with the 2027 opening of St Martha of Bethany.
<p>Bethany Catholic Primary School invites applications for a passionate, knowledgeable and experienced <strong>Literacy Coach & Instructional Leader (POL 3)</strong> to support whole-school instructional excellence and literacy improvement. The role will contribute to teacher capacity building, consistent pedagogical practice, and the strengthening of our knowledge-rich curriculum. A high level of expertise in the Science of Learning and Literacy is a requirement of this position. </p>
<p>This position also provides future opportunities for leadership across our second campus, <strong>St Martha of Bethany</strong>, opening in 2027.</p>

<p><strong>About the Role</strong></p>
<p>The Literacy Coach & Instructional Leader will:</p>
<ul>
<li>Lead, model, and support high-impact instructional practice</li>
<li>Coach teachers in Explicit Direct Instruction (EDI) and structured literacy</li>
<li>Support curriculum planning, sequencing, and delivery within a knowledge-rich framework</li>
<li>Facilitate PLCs, professional learning, and coaching cycles</li>
<li>Analyse student data to guide instruction and intervention</li>
<li>Build collective efficacy and support whole-school improvement initiatives</li>
<li>Contribute to planning and pedagogical alignment across Bethany’s future two-campus structure</li>
</ul>
<p>This role includes a POL 3 allowance.</p>

<p><strong>Qualifications & Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Current VIT Registration</li>
<li>Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (or willingness to obtain)</li>
<li>Relevant qualifications in primary education</li>
<li>Experience in literacy leadership or instructional coaching (preferred)</li>
</ul>
