<p>St Anne's College is seeking a <strong>Grounds and Maintenance Assistant </strong>to join our friendly school environment. This is an exciting ongoing full time opportunity to be part of Catholic Education in the Sandhurst Diocese.</p>
<p>This position assists the Grounds and Maintenance Caretaker in ensuring that the grounds, gardens, buildings, plant and equipment and facilities of the school are well maintained in order to promote a safe and professional image at all times. </p>
<p>The incumbent must, at all times, comply with Occupational Health & Safety standards, in particular wearing correct safety clothing and using appropriate safety equipment </p>
<p>All members of staff are expected to support the school’s Catholic ethos, traditions and practices, and apply these to their work at all times. </p>

<p>St Anne’s College is a Foundation to Year 12 co-educational Catholic college servicing families in the Goulburn Valley area. St Anne’s College is situated on 10 hectares of land and is located at the south end of Shepparton in a rapid growth corridor. St Anne’s College had its first intake of students in 2019 and began with enrolments in Foundation and Year 7. In 2025, the college offers enrolments to all year levels from Foundation to Year 12. </p>
<p><strong>You will:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Maintain the amenities and facilities including the college grounds, gardens, buildings, and plant and equipment with a focus of providing an effective and safe working and learning environment for community enjoyment</li>
<li>Report immediately and remedy any damage, vandalism or breach of security in consultation with the Grounds and Maintenance Caretaker</li>
<li>Ensure the garden beds and other grassed areas are well maintained, including mowing, edging, spraying for weeds and pests, irrigating, fertilising etc.</li>
<li>Complete weeding, pruning, replanting and mulching of garden beds, trees and shrubs and replenishing sandpits and softfall areas on a regular cyclic basis</li>
<li>Keep the school grounds clean, tidy at all times, including collecting, removing rubbish/debris, emptying bins for general rubbish and internal recycling bins</li>
<li>Complete maintenance tasks and school upkeep, including, but not limited to, clearing gutters, repairs to gates, doors and windows, servicing of plant and equipment, and general repairs as well as the cleaning of air-conditioner filters</li>
<li>Operate and maintain, in a safe and operational condition, all tools and equipment necessary to complete job functions / responsibilities</li>
<li>Maintain and operate school machinery in a safe and orderly manner and identify health and safety issues, including but not limited to push and zero-turn ride on mowers, utility tractor with front end loader, spray and fertilising equipment</li>
<li>Develop new gardens, plantings and general enhancements to the landscapes and play spaces</li>
<li>Treat plants and garden beds for pests in a safe manner, when required</li>
<li>Assist the Grounds and Maintenance Caretaker with building and plant and equipment repairs including the design and development of new or additional equipment to support the desired school function</li>
<li>Support the electrical test and tag compliance and routines, following appropriate training</li>
