Senior Network Engineer

<p>Catholic Schools Broken Bay (CSBB) is currently seeking a <strong>Senior Network Engineer</strong> to join our innovative <strong>Digital Enablement team</strong>, where you will be responsible for designing, building, and supporting the infrastructure that powers learning and collaboration across <strong>45 schools, head office and Equinix/Global Switch datacentres.</strong> </p>
<p>This role ensures secure, reliable, and high-performing connectivity across diverse platforms including <strong>Telstra Ethernet, Pipe Networks, Pure IP, Vertel Telecoms, Equinix data centres, Palo Alto firewalls, and Aruba wireless systems</strong>, ensuring our students and staff have seamless and secure access to the digital tools they rely on every day. </p>
<p>This is a <strong>permanent, full-time</strong> role based at our head office in Pennant Hills, with the opportunity to work from home 1 day a week & will need to occasionally attend to schools as required. </p>
<p><strong>Salary: </strong>Circa $162K + super </p>
<p><strong>Role Responsibilities:</strong> </p>
<ul>
<li><strong>Engineer scalable, secure networks</strong> that keep classrooms and data centres connected. </li>
<li><strong>Lead WAN integration projects</strong>, bringing together Telstra, Pipe Networks, and Vertel into a unified architecture. </li>
<li><strong>Design modern solutions</strong> with Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto, and Zscaler technologies. </li>
<li><strong>Configure</strong>, <strong>troubleshoot, and optimise</strong> devices across LAN/WLAN/WAN environments. </li>
<li><strong>Travel</strong> to sites when remote fixes are not possible, ensuring uptime and reliability. </li>
<li><strong>Manage interconnectivity</strong> with Equinix and cloud platforms, keeping disaster recovery readiness front and centre. </li>
<li><strong>Drive innovation</strong> through leading upgrades, migrations, and new site deployments that align with CSBB’s strategic vision. </li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong> </p>
<ul>
<li>Supportive of, or can demonstrate an understanding and commitment to, the ethos of the Catholic faith in an educational context. </li>
<li>Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in enterprise network engineering, with demonstrated success in designing, implementing, troubleshooting and supporting complex multi-site environments. </li>
<li>Relevant tertiary qualifications such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field. </li>
<li>In-depth knowledge of enterprise network technologies and services in on-premises and cloud environments (Windows Storage Spaces Direct HCI Clusters and Azure). </li>
<li>Deep understanding of Data Centre network technologies, including Cisco Nexus Spine and Leaf. </li>
<li>Subject matter expertise in Switching (HP/Aruba) and Routing (Cisco ISR/ASR). </li>
<li>Fundamental ITIL knowledge & Familiarity with Microsoft ecosystem tools: Azure AD, Intune, SCCM, Exchange Online, and M365. </li>
<li>Proven expertise in managing and integrating Telstra Ethernet, Pipe Networks, Vertel Telecoms, or other carrier-grade WAN services. </li>
<li>Experience working in a fast-paced and solution focused environment, with the customer in mind to serve their needs and requirements. </li>
<li>Can manage competing priorities and the sensitivities of others to deliver high quality work. </li>
<li>Current NSW Driver’s Licence (and own car required). </li>
