<p>Suitably experienced and qualified Secondary teachers are invited to apply for this permanent teaching position with the leadership appointment as Assistant Head of Science for a 5-year period. </p>
<p><strong>The opportunity</strong></p>
<p>We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced teacher and innovative leader to fill a permanent full-time position, commencing Term 1 2026. The position has responsibility for supporting the Head of Science with a range of tasks to assist in the smooth running of the department.</p>

<p><strong>About you</strong></p>
<p>The successful candidate will be an energetic secondary educator who is motivated by thinking differently about teaching and learning and who is driven by the creation of engaging and dynamic learning and enrichment experiences for our students. Candidates must:</p>
<ul>
<li>Demonstrated ability to teach Years 7 - 12 Science. </li>
<li>Demonstrate strong leadership and team leading experience to provide instructional leadership within the subject area/s, particularly
<ul>
<li>Leading the quality of curriculum development and evaluation, and course review and writing</li>
<li>Leading the quality of assessment, testing and reporting</li>
<li>Promoting and achieving high standards of student achievement</li>
<li>Developing appropriate teaching methodologies and high standards of teaching effectiveness for Department members</li>
</ul></li>
<li>Demonstrate a passion for teaching, pursuing innovative thinking and interdisciplinary learning </li>
<li>Be energetic, enthusiastic and demonstrate a willingness to grow through the sharing of best practice and professional experience</li>
<li>Possess excellent communications skills both written and verbal, as well as excellent time management skills</li>
<li>Promote and participate in pastoral and co-curricular programs, including but not limited to school camps and excursions</li>
<li>Commit to the safeguarding and promotion of student welfare</li>
<li>Support Radford’s strategic priorities and goals</li>

</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Teaching qualification recognised by the ACT Education Directorate</li>
<li>Maintain registration as a teacher with the Teacher Quality Institute, including WWVP</li>
<li>Extensive teaching experience in providing learning support and enrichment to students in a secondary context.</li>
<li>Current First Aid Certificate</li>
