PARED Victoria established Harkaway Hills College in 2016, and in 2022, welcomed Lysterfield Lake College as the latest school to join the Foundation. Lysterfield Lake College is a new independent Catholic school for boys, currently offering education from Year 3 to 8 (as of 2025) and will continue to expand by adding one year level each year, up to Year 12.

<p><strong>The Role</strong></p>
<p>This is a part time – 0.2 FTE - Laboratory Technician<strong> </strong>role – One-year fixed term contract commencing in January 2026 school year at <strong>Lysterfield Lake College</strong>. A major aspect of this role in 2026 will be involvement in the setup and equipping of the new science laboratory space to ensure readiness for future teaching and learning needs. </p>
<p><strong>The successful candidate will be;</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Offering comprehensive knowledge of Laboratory Technician at the Secondary School level.</li>
<li>Organised, reliable, and proactive, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.</li>
<li>Equipped with solid understanding of both 7-10 and senior secondary science curricula and the associated safety requirements. </li>
<li>Experienced in laboratory setup, maintenance, and OH&S compliance is strongly valued.</li>
</ul>

<p><strong>KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY: </strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Support the Head of Curriculum in the establishment and equipping of the new laboratory space, including the layout, storage systems, and procurement of resources appropriate for Years 7-10 science and future senior secondary science programs. </li>
<li>Prepare materials, chemicals, solutions, and equipment for practical science lessons, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with safety guidelines. </li>
<li>Assist teachers and students during practical sessions when required, providing support to facilitate safe and effective learning experiences. </li>
<li>Maintain a safe and orderly laboratory environment, implementing and monitoring protocols that align with OH&S regulations and relevant chemical safety standards. </li>
<li>Manage chemical and equipment inventories, including ordering, labelling, safe storage, disposal, and maintenance of accurate records (including Safety Data Sheets and risk assessments). </li>
<li>Undertake routine maintenance and basic repairs of laboratory equipment and arrange professional servicing as needed. </li>
<li>Maintain clear records of assets, consumables, servicing schedules, and breakages, and communicate stock levels in a timely manner. </li>
<li>Attend and contribute to key school functions, including Key Parent Functions and major community events. </li>
