Commencing Term 3 or as soon as possible
Full-time | Permanent

As our Shoalhaven campus takes shape, Novo Education Space wants to be the school that drives the change all schools need.

We’re a multi-campus special assistance school for Years 9–12 – and we’re not like most schools. We work with young people who have experienced disrupted learning, trauma, or other challenges that have made traditional school settings hard to access. They may have gaps in their learning, need extra support to stay engaged, and benefit from smaller, more connected learning environments.

With a new, purpose-designed campus opening in Nowra this year, this is an exciting time to come on board and help shape the next chapter.

What’s the role?

We’re looking for two full-time Mentor Teachers to join our Shoalhaven team.

These roles are being offered as permanent. As we grow and settle into our new campus, we’re looking for educators who are ready to help shape something long-term and meaningful.

As a Mentor Teacher, you’ll lead learning in small, connected groups and work closely with a dedicated on-site team – including wellbeing staff, campus leadership, and admin support. Together, you’ll create the conditions for each student to re-engage with learning in a safe, supportive, and purposeful environment.

You’ll design and deliver integrated learning experiences across key learning areas, draw on trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches, and contribute to a culture of consistency, connection and relational safety that supports every student to thrive.

Why Novo?

Real relationships: Our classrooms are built on trust, curiosity and connection.

Supportive culture: You’ll be surrounded by a team who know each student matters.

Innovative approach: We use the Berry Street Education Model, trauma-informed practice, and relational learning every day.

Purpose-built campus: Be part of the transition into a thoughtfully designed, flexible new space in the heart of Nowra.

Benefits: We offer salary packaging and a range of other benefits that support staff wellbeing and growth.

About you

You’re an experienced teacher who sees the whole young person – not just their challenges, but their strengths, goals and growth. You plan learning that meets students where they’re at and help them move forward from there. You reflect deeply, work collaboratively, lead with empathy, and take accountability for the effective delivery of your teaching and learning program. You also bring a strong desire to learn about our innovative curricular and pedagogical models.
