Commencing in&nbsp;Term 4 2025, this is a tremendous opportunity to join our middle leadership team as the&nbsp;Assistant Head of Science.</p> <p>Reporting directly to the Head&nbsp;of Science and a key member of the Curriculum Team, the Assistant Head of Science will support and assist the Head of Science to lead the pursuit of excellence in the pedagogies of teaching, contemporary teaching methodologies, differentiation of the curriculum, learning and assessment, classroom management, and professional development strategies to build the capability and capacity of the team.</p> <p>This is a 1-point paid position with commensurate time release.</p> <p>This is a dynamic role requiring exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills together with an ability to prioritise and work autonomously.&nbsp;</p> <p>To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate you satisfy the following selection criteria:</p> <p><strong>Essential Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>A working understanding of, and commitment to the Catholic ethos of a School in the Edmund Rice tradition.</li> <li>Demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.</li> <li>Experience in leading a professional team and able&nbsp;to provide proactive, high-quality leadership and management of a department.</li> <li>Qualified to teach Science (Stage&nbsp;4 to Stage 6) with&nbsp;NESA Accreditation&nbsp;and approval to teach in NSW.</li> <li>Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.</li> <li>Previous experience in, or capacity to assist the Head of Science in the process of planning, developing and implementing the syllabus.</li> <li>Proven track record in, or capacity to assist the Head of Science in the identification of gifted Science students and support in the management of a quality enrichment program in Science from Years 5 to 12.</li> <li>Sound knowledge of assessment and feedback strategies with the ability to assist the Head of Science to design and implement learning that caters for a diverse range of students.</li> <li>Exceptional communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.</li> <li>Strong organisational and time management skills with an ability to prioritise tasks, meet prescribed deadlines and concurrently manage a number of competing tasks.</li> <li>Excellent rapport building, networking and relationship management experience to support the effective communication with students, colleagues and the wider community regarding teaching, learning or curriculum matters.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable Criteria</strong></p> <ul> <li>Qualified and experienced in teaching Physics (Stage 6)
