Frensham is seeking a Fitness Instructor / Sport Coach to join us on a full-time basis (part-time considered) from 1 February 2026.

They are taught to value kindness, resilience, empathy and compassion, and to carry these attributes with them for life, alongside the School’s core values.</p> <p><strong>Position Overview</strong></p> <p>Frensham is seeking a dynamic and motivated <strong>Fitness Instructor / Sport Coach</strong> to join our Sport and Fitness team on a full-time basis (part-time considered) in a newly created role. This position is designed to support the physical development and wellbeing of students through both structured sport coaching and personalised fitness instruction.<br><br> The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching in IGSA sports and providing tailored fitness programs to individuals, pairs, and small groups. This role is ideal for a professional who is passionate about youth fitness, sport, and holistic wellbeing.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>Sport Coaching (Approx. 12 hours/week)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Coach IGSA sport teams during the school’s sport program.</li> <li>Attend and coach at scheduled sessions: <ul> <li>Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday afternoons.</li> <li>Saturday mornings (Frensham is a home venue for IGSA competition).</li> </ul></li> <li>Prepare and implement training plans aligned with team goals and student development.</li> <li>Support students in skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Fitness Instruction (Up to 26 hours/week)</strong></p> <p>Deliver personalised fitness sessions to individuals, pairs, and small groups.</p> <p>Conduct sessions during:</p> <ul> <li>Students’ free periods during the school day.</li> <li>Before school, afternoons, and evenings.</li> <li>Design and monitor fitness programs tailored to student needs and goals.</li> <li>Promote safe and effective exercise techniques and injury prevention.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Selection Criteria</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Relevant qualifications in Fitness Instruction (e.g., Certificate III/IV in Fitness or equivalent).</li> <li>Experience in coaching school-aged athletes in one or more IGSA sports.</li> <li>Current First Aid and CPR certification.</li> <li>Working With Children Check (NSW).</li> <li>Strong interpersonal and communication skills.</li> <li>Ability to work independently and as part of a team.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Desirable:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Experience working in a school or youth-focused environment.</li> <li>Knowledge of adolescent physical development and wellbeing.</li> <li>Flexibility to work varied hours, including early mornings and weekends.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Please note:</strong> The provision of accommodation on campus may be available to a suitable candidate.</p> <p><strong>Commencement: </strong>1 February 2026.</p>
